shanrick: The guy needs help, not jail.
Pinner: Let the man huff. Legal drug is legal.
maxximillian: Pinner: Let the man huff. Legal drug is legal. The article isn't clear but he was charged with something so he likely did something illegal by huffing but even with that for gods sake man just do it at home. Is it that bad where you can't make the drive home?
antidumbass: I went to High School with a kid who huffed everything huffable- gasoline, aerosols, solvents, etc. (I seriously doubt if he graduated.) He "served as a bad example" as Twain wrote and the rest of us observed firsthand. Punch drunk with slurred speech and poor vision by the Junior year. Two other people I knew went blind for hours huffing 'Pam' cooking spray.30+ years later, I still shiver at the thought of their actions.
Xythero: Does huffing make your jaw do that?
The One True TheDavid: shanrick:The guy needs help, not jail.Given the brain damage that stuff causes if he waits too long the help might come in the form of shoe-tying and butt-wiping lessons. What I want to know is why it's illegal. At least why it's punished with jail time: the threat of jail should be used as an inducement to sterilization so the stupid won't get passed down and confiscation of any dependent children so its effects on them might be mitigated with proper care and training. There are fewer more obvious signs of mental subnormality than huffing, given that you have to be pretty dumb to do it and it makes you even dumber. The herd needs culling, and more subjects volunteer every day.
offmymeds: The One True TheDavid:[...]The herd needs culling, and more subjects volunteer every day.Ever hear of eugenics?
The One True TheDavid: Maybe we should have Inane Asylums far away from major population centers where stupid people of all kinds can go (or be sent) to indulge such stupidity till it eventually kills them. You'd probably need maximum-security-type fencing to keep them in out
The One True TheDavid: You're not going to get rid of inhalant abuse: ban aerosols and they'll huff varnish remover. It's better to get rid of the inhalant abusers
The One True TheDavid: You're not going to get rid of inhalant abuse: ban aerosols and they'll huff varnish remover. It's better to get rid of the inhalant abusers, or let them eliminate themslves away from those who know better.
Pangea: The One True TheDavid:You're not going to get rid of inhalant abuse: ban aerosols and they'll huff varnish remover. It's better to get rid of the inhalant abusersI presume that you're alright with eliminating smokers and casual drinkers too then? Those are bad for you. How about people that eat fast food? How about anyone who has developed type 2 diabetes?
tuxq: Could someone farking explain to me how this is helpful? They arrest him for his own good, but giving him a record scars him for life and makes any chance of any decent future job opportunities pretty slim. There's no logic in this.
