Don't be an asshole. This isn't about Russia trying to control what YOU see, it's about controlling what RUSSIANS see. Their national firewalls aren't working, and they are looking for another solution to their own censorship needs. Find that solution, and they won't care if there's zero regulation.

Destroy all walls of censorship, take that measure of control away from all parties except individuals. Not governments. Not businesses. Just people determining what they themselves can produce and wish to find. The Internet should be a frontier of free thought and communication, not another medium through which the frightened and the greedy can limit how we interact.
cman:We, the United States, created the Internet, so of course we will always have some sort of control over the medium. The only way that the UN/China/Russia could gain any kind of control is to most likely create their own Internet.
