poorjon: They may not need any around as long as the radioactive decay products are well enough characterized. Just look for the right isotopes in the right abundance and you can claim with very good certainty that polonium was there.Which leads me to wondering why the hell anyone would kill someone with a toxic element. They can't be metabolized away, and they're very easy to detect. Seems like a terrible choice.
Kuroboom: The average life expectancy for a male in the Palestinian territories is 71.8 years according Wikipedia. He was 75 years old, so surely he was assassinated via radioactive poisoning.
