Why?

2012-11-27 09:59:03 AM
Will the movie include Obama meeting with the bankers who brought our economy to the brink and coming up with a plan to maintain the status quo and not change anything?

2012-11-27 10:02:39 AM
If i wanted to see a movie about people who didn't have a plan and didn't seemingly accomplish anything, i'd watch Twilight.

\probably a bad comparison.
\\wouldn't watch either.

Will this last longer than the actual Occupy protests?

Ask Michael Moore for money. I'm sure someone as understanding, sympathetic and against corporate greed as much as he is, will help out in a heartbeat.

my last post was dickish, i admit. I just obviously missed the point of the whole thing.

I neither support nor condemn the Occupy movement, but that trailer was dreadful. What is the documentary about? Is it about the people within the movement or about the movement itself? What is the expected goal of the movement? "Bring it down" tells the watcher nothing. What sort of time frame does the documentary cover? So many jump cuts, nothing tied together, and you began and ended with people taking huge pauses before answering questions.

Just for a few weeks? Bah. I lived outside city hall for 2 months followed by occupying skid row, occupying main st, CCA & foreclosed homes. A few weeks and you think its a documentary? Im very confused by this. Plus being that occupy groups across the country stand for different things... well unless you visited them all you can't really tell the story of "occupy" I call shenanigans.

Pay me, subby and I will, otherwise, nope.

Bunch of kids disrupting the majorities' lives to make incoherent points about how 'the system sucks' and how they want everything to be 'free'.

Grow up, subby or life is gonna hit you like an speeding training.

So the movie is going to mainly be an off-camera narrator asking a question, and then the interview subject staring off into space for thirty seconds before giving the answer you already knew they were going to say? Hell, put me down for $5,000, this has Oscar written all over it!

2012-11-27 04:21:14 PM
Occup(ier?/ant?): "We're gonna tear this whole Wall Street system down, metaphorically, peacefully."

Seconds earlier:
Interviewer: "Could the Wall Street induced financial collapse happen again (i.e. did the Occupy movement fail to accomplish anything significant)?"
Economist: "Absolutely."

So it's a movie about people who set out to do something that was nebulous and vague to begin with, a good chunk of whom went through all of the wrong channels for getting anything accomplished, and whose movement petered out without any real effect. Anyone watch the MST3K of the Skydivers? "A stranger comes to town, touches no one's lives, and leaves."

2012-11-27 06:57:34 PM
Off Camera Interviewer: If there one threat to Occupy; what is it?

Sandy Nurse: (long pause)...sigh, I think it's ourselves we get good jobs.

Anyway, good luck.

Subby:

No.

2012-11-27 09:18:31 PM
How about no. If I want to watch about all of the dirty hippies that trashed the areas I live in I'll just watch some YouTube clips of the rioting. Go home and get a job you stinkpits.

2012-11-27 09:38:08 PM
Ugh. Why?

I'll bet if all you occupiers went ahead and started, oh, I dunno, A BUSINESS, you could raise that money in just a few weeks.

There must be at least one clever person in your group that has a market-ready idea.

2012-11-27 09:44:19 PM
Im a shiftless wannabe who found the lure of easy hippie chicks and public urination so great that I slept in a tent in a park for a few weeks and acted all angry at the people who built the city the park was in, the people who paid for the park, the people who made my tent, the people who financed the company that made the equipment that prepared my free meals and Starbucks while i waited inline for my soy chai tea latte.

Please give money to this kickstarter so that my experience will mean something.

After the "movement" failed to gain any staying power.
After the press has stopped believing you have your act together.
Now you start a kickstarter -- to make a documentary -- about YOURSELVES?

Oh yes, no delusions of grandeur here...no sir.

What happened to all that brainpower, donated equipment and money? It's the INTERNET AGE...you need to just make a feature length QT movie and upload it to YouTube, Vimeo or Google Video
LIKE ANYONE ELSE.

Occupy woke the country up. Just in time.

I got a chance to visit OWS--Throngs of know-nothings holding up signs signs that listed all the free stuff they wanted like it was Christmas time. This wasnt our parents' Woodstock; it was a collection of jobless liberal arts dropouts that impeded the productive lives of the common New Yorkers that were trying to make it to a normal job. Yay, the populist message got out, but it Didn't solve a thing. OWS should have occupying the White House lawn and the halls of congress but they are too scared of their Fartbongo to actually try to address the real problem.

Seriously. You just know every singly one of them was part of the Apple cult. They should all be a click away from a cheap movie, so they can circle jerk while watching a documentary about their circle jerk.

I'm the guy who submitted this and I'm starting to wonder what horrible thing I did in a previous life that warranted me being born an American.

I think, sweetheart, that there are a few lessons to be learned from this.

OWS was an international movement, and so was OWS hate.

Here in Western Canada we had a few satellite protests that went largely unnoticed, as they were composed of the people who protest every damn thing every time they get the chance. Essentially they became hippie/folk concerts on public land without paying any fees.

Not as much hate for the Occupiers as the Quebec student protestors, though. "Waaah, we pay the lowest tuition rate in the country, and you want to bring us up to par with the other provinces? Mon Dieu!"

You are a stupid, stupid, stupid person. Or a troll.

I hope in your "next life", you live in a country that doesn't allow you the opportunity to voice your displeasure
