Well, that's one small storage area for some rocks, one giant bleep for mankind.

FTA: [Pat Gaarder said] "It is also exciting to think that our collection includes artifacts from across the globe and now with these moon rocks, the galaxy."

Umm... no. The moon is not across the galaxy, you freakin' retard.

Wow, a find like that would almost make an episode of "Storage Wars" worth watching on mute.

Very inventive headline, Captain Plagiarist.

The question is *why* someone would go through the trouble of putting those artifacts in a warehouse where no one would ever find it?

Maybe not someone but rather something.

Did they eat them?

Moonrocks are considered national treasures and illegal to sell or own.

Sadly, situations like this happen far to often. Something gets stored away and everyone forgets about it. Even major institutions like the Smithsonian have that problem.

abhorrent1: Why do subbies hate American Jobs?

Probably he was an egomaniacal asshole who thought the Internet revolved around him, and the fawning admiration of Apple fanbois feeding that probably didn't help.

Sad things like this happen. Someone probably didn't know how/where to display them and had them put into storage until someone else could make that decision. A decision that was never made.

Those "better means" will be handled by the Minnesota Historical Society, which will take possession of the rocks in a transfer ceremony Wednesday at a gathering of children at Science and Technology Academies Reinforcing Basic Aviation and Space Exploration (STARBASE) Minnesota.

Yow, they really worked for that one.
