Okay, so Nick Foles is starting again. That doesn't mean Vick can't do it.

I never thought an Eagles game could be less exciting than the Cardinals versus the Rams, but this might be the week. We'll know right away if the Eagles show up, or if they've just packed it in for the season.

At this point, I'm hoping for more losses to get a better draft pick for whoever the new coach turns out to be.

I just hope its not Matt Barkley.

And yet Lindley's 4-INT performance still garnered him a 44.7 passer rating, higher than the 38.7 rating acheived by 68-year-old Charlie Batch in his 3-INT performance. Against the Browns, of all teams. I would have to think that performance would put him in the running for the Jake based on the intangibles, unless there is some rule that prevents the award from being given to those old enough for Medicare.

Week 12 weird stats & stuff:

-The Pittsburgh Steelers lost 5 fumbles against the Browns yesterday. Eight teams have lost fewer fumbles for the entire season. Ironically enough, one of those teams is the Cleveland Browns.
-Fittingly, Pittsburgh now leads the league in total fumbles (lost + recovered on offense), with 25. By way of comparison, the Houston Texans have only coughed the ball up 7 times.
-Your highest-scoring team is (surprise!) the New England Patriots, averaging 37 points/game. Five teams are averaging less than half that number, and no other team is within a touchdown of them.
-The most explosive team in the NFL? The Washington Redskins lead the league by gaining an average of 6.2 yards/play.
-If you guessed that New England leads the league in passing yardage, you're way off: they're actually fourth. Detroit is still atop the rankings there.
-The New York Giants are tops in the NFL, allowing only 14 sacks so far. That's 32 less than the last-place Arizona Cardinals.
-It's good to have a Manning: only three teams have lost less than 100 yards on sacks this year. The Giants and the Denver Broncos are two of them (oddly enough, the third is Buffalo, who have only lost 89 yards on 20 sacks).
-18 teams are averaging less than 10 yards per punt return. Then there are the Buffalo Bills, leading the league with an average of 20.8 yards/return.
-There have been 27 combined punt & kick return touchdowns this season. Buffalo, the Baltimore Ravens, and the New York Jets have 9 of them, or 33% of the league total.
-Only two quarterbacks have engineered more than 3 game-winning drives (4th quarter or OT scoring drive which puts his team ahead for the last time) in the 2012 season: Matt Ryan (5) and Andrew Luck (4).
-Among qualifying quarterbacks (14+ pass attempts/team game), Tom Brady leads all hurlers by being intercepted just 0.7% of the time he drops back. Ben Roethlisberger and Robert Griffin III are tied for second, at nearly twice that frequency (1.3%).
-Buffalo's C.J. Spiller is currently 10th in the rushing standings, with 830 yards, despite getting only 123 carries. The next-highest ranking by a runner with fewer than 150 attempts belongs to Robert Griffin, who is 21st.
-San Francisco's Aldon Smith has more sacks (16.5) than three teams.
-Chicago's Tim Jennings has more interceptions (8) than eight teams. Fellow Bear Charles Tillman has forced more fumbles (7) than the Green Bay Packers or the Indianapolis Colts.
-Only one non-kicker ranks among the top 30 this season in total points scored: Arian Foster, who is tied for 14th.
-The Kansas City Chiefs do lead the league in at least one positive statistic: their 31 punts downed inside the 20 are four more than any other team.
-Finally, perhaps the most astonishing statistic of the season so far: the New Orleans Saints have managed only 76 punt return yards over 11 games. Total. Buffalo's Leodis McKelvin has broken a single return for more yardage. Twice.

I've already won my matchup this week, so as long as Cam Newton doesn't score -19 points, I'll be golden.

I have the Panthers at -3, so if any of y'all are looking to get rich, it is an absolute fact, a stone cold lock, that the Eagles will either win the game outright or lose by no more than 2. This is because God hates me, and I hate him right back.

Don't really care for either team, or any team in their divisions, but my instinct is to root against Philly sports teams.

I'm glad to see this day closer to an end. I probably won't make it until the end of the game but so what. I'm only watching for the lolz.

I've had a really bad day trying to recover my laptop. I thought it was going to be pretty easy, but after the first install died and did not recognize 3/4 of the hardware I new a long haul was in order.

I am happy to report that after installing about 20 drivers from Toshiba, I finally have a wired connection to the inter-net. (Why does spell check fail to recognize "internet"? I have to add it every new dictionary. Damn fools programmers.) Back to the laptop/notebook. Already about 50% done installing Win 7 updates. I still have to figure out why I have no wireless support but with a wired connection I hope it can get it working before bed.

Enough about my 'puter problems.

Yesterday was a good day. DA BEARS WON! Fudge Packers lost, unfortunately, MIA won. Some of the sports guys are talking a wild card sport for the Fins. Yea, right.

Good to see you all here again. I'll try and stay awake as long as I can, have to be at work early tomorrow. And go Panthers! I hate the Iggles. (use your Yosemite Sam voice when you say that).

2012-11-26 07:30:25 PM
I just want to hear the Gruden chants at the LINC. A few weeks ago they turned up the music and PA louder to try and drown out the FIRE ANDY sentiment. I wonder if the birds do lose, will Andy be gone tomorrow.

At least both teams are bad so it will not be a blowout. I would rather watch two bad teams than play then one really good team and one really bad team.

It's the final few weeks of fantasy regular season. Luckily for me I am very interested in the Panthers offense tonight. Need Olsen and Smith to stay under 24 combined in a NON-PPR format. Hopefully Carolina runs all day.

I can't count the number of times I heard "butt fumble" today. The sprinklers was gut wrenching funny (Live in the Miami viewing area, so that was the only early game). After the commercial one of the announcers said that Carl Spackler was in the building and turned them on.

Hmm.

After much deliberation of which team is worse with the players on the field this evening, my pick is Carolina to get a W.

Took me a while to arrive at this conclusion. When you've hit the bottom of the barrel and grabbed a shovel, normal considerations go out the window.

How did they get stuck with this game anyways? I know thursday scooped up 3 games, was this the best matchup they could get? Even back in the spring or whenever they make the schedule, this couldn't have been the best matchup available this week.
