French, Italian, real German or Swiss German?

To be fair, in Europe everyone speaks SOME German. You know...just in case.

Tomji: And since I am swiss and I had countless discussions with americans where they ask me "all about sweden" ... I have to believe it's not intentional and just sad...
That said, I've visited sweden and know a bit about it... but after the second reminder that I am swiss and not swedish - I just give up.

Dude, You have been here LONG ENOUGH to get the joke.....but you're Swiss so we'll give you a pass.....

ABQGOD: Tomji: is it considered funny to mix up Australia and Austria? I just find it retarded and I am never fully sure if the mix up is intentional or the poster is really mentally only able to process 3-5 different countries.

I have to believe that you are merely trolling the headline in reverse. Otherwise I weep for humanity.

The Swiss are not noted for their sense of humor. Living that close to the North Pole, they require all their energy just to survive.

I had a co-worker from Brazil who once remarked that his first Christmas in the US was a real revelation, because all of the winter-based Christmas imagery that he'd grown up with suddenly all made sense.

My favorite music comes from Austria. I've always enjoyed relaxing to Strauss' "Waltz of Matilda". I think Freud once lobbied to make it the national anthem.

Read somewhere that the tradition of keeping a Christmas tree INSIDE the house, instead of outside, became popularized by the Austrians. Apparently, Austrian families started to bring their trees inside to protect them from the Koala bears, who can devour a Christmas tree in no time flat.

This practice eventually spread to other regions that celebrate Christmas, and most of us now keep a tree inside the home instead of outside, all thanks to Austrians and the Koala Bear.

The very first thing I did when I got to Australia was flush a toilet to see if the reverse swirl thing was true. It made for a very disappointing start to my trip.

You have to use a toilet made in Austria for that to work.

You missed Romansh, the coolest/most obscure of all Swiss languages. It's descended from Vulgar Latin, so it's got that going for it.

You know, I'm tempted to start up Aussie Brand Ceramics[tm] and make a line of toilets with the jets mounted in reverse.
