i suppose i was thinking about the policy rather than the pic linked with the article. either way, i was too giddy with the article to pay attention to the tag used. but it is better with the amusing tag.

I thought they didn't want to give pensions to anyone except upper management.

On a side note Boeing is not based in Washington. Its largest workforce may be there but it moved from Washington in recent years.

The article is wrong in saying the contract proposal was rejected a second time. There hasn't been a vote yet but the union leadership isn't happy with what Boeing is offering so far.

//Would be happy to just extend the current contract

Well sure, Washington only gets two senators. Why would a federal government contractor limit themselves to so few?

To Boeing, obviously, gay marriage is not a civil rights issue. They are concerned, as every good Christian should be, about this threat to the sanctity of marriage.

On the other hand, what about states' rights? The tenth amendment? It's all so confusing, what's a conservative to think?

I'm not inclined to think that denying the pension benefits has anything to do with personal bias or discrimination, but instead, just trying to make a buck to the limit of the law where they can.

Boeing moved to IL as a big "F you" to WA after the legislature had the temerity to almost sort of quit slobbing their knob.

/never flying in a SC built Boeing if I have the choice.

We can't have the tenth amendment because slavery. There is apparently nothing else in the constitution today that would protect individuals....

I didn't know that John Travolta flies commercial.

I'm surprised that they let anybody on the plane in a pilot's uniform who isn't the official pilot of the flight. Did they also let him fly the plane? Did they give him a little model of the plane? Did they lock the anti-terror door after they let him in the cockpit? Have you ever seen a grown-man naked, Billy? Enquiring minds want to know.

By the by, Travolta lives in a "gated" community in Florida. Well, not actually gated. It's an exclusive community for people who have airplanes. To get there you have to fly (I expect they have some sort of emergency road, just in case everybody is grounded by a terror attack. It's like something out of a SF novel. Only it's just rich people who have the flying cars. You're nobody unless you have a private airport.

You can see it on Google Earth. That's the only farking way you will ever see it, Bub.
