He's just been fired, so its a moot point now. But I like how the article mentions 'players', when really only two guys brought that up on record - the freshman QB that got some playing time at the end of the year, and the sophmore RB who finally got a featured role this year. No comments from all the guys complaining about that ridiculous 11pm curfew put in towards the end of the season. And just looking beyond the record, you have to wonder why a lot of those assistants were so eager to get out of there the last couple of years that they took arguably inferior jobs in some cases.

Bobby Petrino time?

coolio mack: He's just been fired

Everyone in Alabama that watched the game yesterday knew this would happen today. It was disgraceful, and almost made me feel sorry for the Aubs. Almost.

We need to get rid of Pat Dye! He's the drunken problem.

I remember arguing with some Auburn fans on fark a few years ago when he was hired. I watched his two years at Iowa State, and I could tell then he was a terrible coach. Often teams get outplayed due to superior talent/coaching/whatever. But the Iowa State teams he coached were bad. Terrible fundamentals, uninspired play, everything. I don't care if you can only get two star recruits, you can at least teach them how to make a decent block. Look at what Rhoads has done here (thanks for the trade, Auburn, by the way) - Iowa State isn't exactly a hot destination, but he's managed to pull off some upsets and make bowls in three of his four years.

I thought he was gone after UGA shut them out and he needed a miracle win against bama

(just to add fuel to the fire)

Next on the 6 o'clock news....Allbran hires Dan Mullen out from under Mississippi State with a contract that would make Nick Saban sad 5 years, 6.6million a year. (increase in classes and parking are inbound for students)

/they should get Saban, just to piss off Bammer fans.
//student at Auburn (i don't say it often)
///is an LSU fan for life
////160 for a parking pass is retarded

If that happens my cheer will go from "War Eagle!" to "Roll Tide!" faster than you can spell Petrino's last name.

You know the game is already decided when you use a timeout so that your center can tie his shoe.

Mack Brown needs to hire him back as his defensive coordinator...preferably before the Horns play KSU this Saturday.

Yeah mine too. If I can't keep it in the family I would at least like to keep it in the state. Strange enough as a kid I was a Alabama and Bear fan. There were just so many redneck fans in our area i became kind of a real life troll and pulled for Auburn. Now nearly 40 yrs later I might have to go back.

I wish someone would tell me why the hell we didn't hire(googling)Turner Gill. It was between him and Chizik. And hmm, oh he went to Kansas and.....oh shiat....nevermind. lulz we sure know how to pick 'em don't we?

Heh, thanks! It was a beutiful thing that happened yesterday! I'm sober so I'm not soliciting congratulations like after the LSU game.

I will be for Georgia if they win. Not because of SEC, but because of fark Notre Dame.

I'm a Bama guy, but I'd honestly prefer a competitive Auburn. That being said, we'll welcome you back into the fold, should you choose to turn away from the dark side.

Auburn, Tennesse, Arkansas, and Kentucky should all just change coaches. Maybe rotate in a clockwise direction.

As a former Kentucky fan (finally left 'em this year, realized I was in an abusive relationship), I could get behind Derek Dooley in Lexington.

As I understand it, his biggest problem was relating to the UT players. Well, those kinds of primadonnas don't come to UK- they go to better programs, like Tennessee.

I do think it's ironic that the biggest reason he won't be considered for the job is that he lost to UK last year. "Look, do you have any idea how awful this school's team was? They had a wide receiver playing quarterback. And you still lost? Yeah, we're going in a different direction."

Still, he'd look STYLIN' in some blue polyester pants.

Reminds me of when Tenn hired Lane Kiffen. We kept telling them he was an amoral skuzzbag. Now they believe it.
