I doubt the sins of the brother will be remembered that they were the sins of his brother alone. But, yeah, I doubt Jeb would get the candidacy.

I'd so vote for Hillary, but she has said a number of times she won't run in 2016. I suppose she could change her mind, but I am hoping that Obama puts her on the Supreme Court instead.

Hillary "We can't shut the drug war down, there's too much money involved" Clinton?

MSM asking the hard-hitting questions Americans want to know, circa 2008:
"Will you run again in 2012 if you lose in 2008?"

The Bush name will still be poison even in 2016.

Not only that but Jeb is a Moderate Republican the teahadists will never go for that again after Romney.

No don't do it. She's to old. We need a liberal judge that will be there for decades not 8 years.

or the fact she's served her entire political career in the legislative branch not the judicial; she writes laws that get people arrested

This is either a troll, or you've never looked at a SCOTUS Justice's qualifications before. Also, Harriet Miers.

This.

Unfortunately, the GOP is doubling down on the fail even as we waste time on FARK. Next they'll be looking to deport anyone with Hispanic surnames.

Unless the country's changed a whole lot since 2000, Jeb would win. Who'd want to drink a beer with Hillary.

2012-11-25 08:52:27 AM
Jeb running would be the most self-centered move ever. Republicans need to reach out better to minorities (Marco Rubio) or they need someone who has done more than pay lip service to working with people on both sides of the aisle (Chris Christie). Jeb would just foul up the primaries, and make them tear each other down, like they did this year.

As for Hillary saying she won't run in 2016, check back to what she was saying before she ran in 2008. Who knows.

This should be the litmus test for anyone hoping to work for the RNC - "Do you think we can restore our brand by putting another Bush on the ballot?"

If you answer "Yes," you're blacklisted and can never work on a race above the level of county-level recorder of graves
If you answer "No," the interview continues.
If you start laughing and say "FARK no! Have you been huffing Rust-O-Leum?" you're hired.

Mr. Coffee Nerves: This should be the litmus test for anyone hoping to work for the RNC

They just elected Reince Priebus. This isn't a top flight operation, exactly.

I don't think anyone is saying "You know what this country REALLY needs? Another Bush!"

Not anyone outside of the Bush family.

Or a Shrubber, a Shrubber would say that.

I wonder if it ever crossed a republican strategist mind that maybe, just maybe its not the man you are running that is having problems with the Hispanic community. Maybe it's your platform. Your presidential candidate told them messicans he was going to make things so miserable for brown people they would want to self deport. I don't think they are feeling the love. Another problem just might be republican state legislators enacting farked up immigration laws that screw things up so badly that farmers can't get enough workers to pick the crops. Even better you have Arizona wanting to make al brown people prove they are actually citizens when the local cops stop them for speeding or jaywalking. Since the election the republicans have done a bang up job of making the Latino community feel welcome. You know that saying Obama supporters voted for free stuff and that they are stupid has got to be a big hit. To your credit you have recognized your issues with them dirty brown people and you have started talking about immigration reform. The only problem is any immigration reform from the republican party starts and ends with stronger border security and does not address any of the actual immigration problems we have.

But hey, your token Cuban(hey he's brown right) or another Bush will totally work. After all Sarah Palin was a huge hit with women and style over substance wins every time.

No more Bushes. Please. No more Clintons, either. If we can't have Bill again, we can't have the rest of them. The Presidency isn't a monarchy, it doesn't need to be passed down from one family member to another.

Of course Jeb is going to be on the ticket. The GOP hasn't won a presidential election without a Bush or Nixon on the ticket since 1928.

/you read that right

If you have "Clinton vs. Bush" in 2016... no matter if you even do kinda like one or the other, I think someone can run a mighty compelling 3rd party campaign on the basis of "Do we really want another "Bush/Clinton" as the president?"

I like Hillary but it wont be her.
Dems need to young and charismatic (or a peanut farmer) to win the presidency.

And he speaks fluent Spanish. And his wife was born in Mexico. I know they even let Mormons run now, but this ain't happening unless they break the back of the Teabaggers in the next year or two.

Just like 2008 was Hillary vs. Rudy Giuliani, right?

NO. Just, NO.

2012-11-25 11:45:44 AM
I'll vote third party then.

2012-11-25 11:46:57 AM
It doesn't matter, by 2016 all the Hillary voters will be so post-menopausal that a stiff wind will keep them from going door to door for her in the primary.

2012-11-25 11:47:13 AM
Wow, the GOP just won't give up on running against Hillary, will they?

Does it occur to them that she's no longer liberal enough to get through the primaries?

MFAWG: Wow, the GOP just won't give up on running against Hillary, will they?

Right, because the Democratic party has shifted so hard left in the last four years.

2012-11-25 11:48:27 AM
Jeb Bush is the best hope for the GOP in 2016? They're farked.

2012-11-25 11:48:57 AM
Once Florida was no longer necessary to win the EC, Jeb Bush became irrelevant.

2012-11-25 11:49:39 AM
Won't happen.

2012-11-25 11:49:43 AM
So George W. Bush would campaign for Jeb, and Bill Clinton would campaign for Hillary. Even the Daily Mail can guess how that'd turn out.

Coco LaFemme: No more Bushes. Please. No more Clintons, either. If we can't have Bill again, we can't have the rest of them. The Presidency isn't a monarchy, it doesn't need to be passed down from one family member to another.

"Monarchy" my ass. People who make comments like that are looking for a problem that doesn't actually exist.

If Hillary wants to run, she's more than capable - I think she's done a fantastic job as Secretary of State. I don't give a shiat what her name is - she's only related to Bill through marriage. I don't think she will run, but if she does I'm not going to throw a tantrum because her husband held the office before her.

That said: Hillary won't run because she'd be 68 for most of the campaign. Jeb won't be elected because you're not going to get half the country to support another Bush.

Obama beat her by recognizing that she was vulnerable from the left. So yes, yes it has. Bareefer Obonghit is slightly more liberal than Bill Clinton was.
