Hey, for whatever you want to say about Bieber & Jespen, they are uber popular right now, and whatever you want to say about the CFL... the fact that the CFL can obviously afford to have them at their halftime show says that they are obviously doing fairly well financially right now.

Agreed. My problem is the goal post should be behind the endzone, not in front of it. IT AINT RIGHT

Yeah, the Thanksgiving games were a trilogy of fail with the halftime show: Kid Rock in Detroit (enough said about that), Kenny Chesney doing his "I'm heterosexual, honest I am" act in Dallas, and Lenny Kravitz doing something or another in New York.

Goofy rules? Lots of the rules and style of play end up in the NFL. We're from the future.

Klippoklondike: My problem is the goal post should be behind the endzone, not in front of it. IT AINT RIGHT

If they were at the back of the end zone, it would be 150 yards from uprights to uprights. With a field thats 65 yards wide, they come into play surprisingly rarely. Some passing plays actually use the uprights to rub off a DB.

You know, I used to listen to the BBC World Report on a daily basis. I grew up watching CBC on a daily basis because we couldn't afford cable and grew up near the border.

I still don't really grasp cricket or Canadian Football after years of hearing about them during the top of the hour news roundups or whatever.

One of the few honestly foreign things about Canadian culture to me. And it probably shouldn't be, I could just research it, but eh.

I'll be watching, as I actually prefer the CFL style of football to that of the NFL. It's more entertaining.

It's a fun sport. My family got all the Toronto stations when I was a kid, so I was able to watch a lot of CFL games as a kid. I prefer the NFL, but the CFL is fun when it's on. I'll probably switch over the Grey Cup after the Chargers game is over.

I was at a job interview down in the US at a major software company, and we were in one of those stupid 'group evaluations'. There was some confusion in the group over using miles, kilometers, meters, or feet. Finally one guy from Texas says, "Let's use something we can all agree on: the length of a football field." I looked at him, raised an eyebrow jauntily and replied, "American or Canadian?"

Poor guy just sat there staring. He had no idea we played football, or that you get a lot of your better rules from us.

Speaking of Texas, I was pen pals with a chick in Houston and she never did believe me when I told her people skated outside in the winter in Canada.

She went nuts after Obama won in 08 and I never spoke to her since.

I am stunned that Toronto's "Mayor" threw the Stampeder jersey on the stage and stomped on it. Really? How do you Torontonians live with embarrassment as the representative of your city?

I lived in TO for 10 years, many of them the Lastman years, and he was a peach compared to that thug.

So, the teams are being announced, and everyone's D2 American colleges and near-miss NFL.

Does Canada even have Canadian football players in the CFL? Wasn't there a requirement you had to?

Each team may have a maximum of 42 players, including 3 players who shall be identified as quarterbacks and 39 other players, of whom not more than 19 may be imports.

It did seem to even out a bit for Toronto. The Stamps starting lineup seemed to all be imported, i.e. USA colleges.

I think that was just the starting defence they announced...they could all be 2nd/3rd stringers.

Well, we've had a number of Canadian born and bred players get scholarships to NCAA schools - so their colleges would be announced as USA schools. In Canada, you can't get a full ride to university on an athletic scholarship, which is why so many of our hockey and football players go to school in the US (and one reason for Steve Nash played college ball down there too).

Works for me. Not a big fan of that kind of rule, you should have your best 11 out there regardless.

I'll stfu, enjoy your 100th Grey Cup folks.
