Super Chronic: Torres said that none of the boxer's organs could be donated because of the time between when he was declared brain dead and his death after going into cardiac arrest for the second time since the shooting.

Well, aren't you glad you had all that extra quality time with him. Must've been totally worth it.

That's just the reason they gave the press. The real reason is that there were too many drugs in his system.

Read the article again. Torres was the doctor and had no call in shutting off the life support. It was the eldest son that wanted to keep Camacho alive for the 'miracle'. Camacho's mother just wanted to keep him on life support until the last of the family arrived to say goodbye. Horrible situation for the family, but the mom made the right call.

Read my comment again. At no point did I blame Torres. I do, however, blame the mom and the eldest son for making an absolutely wrong call. She kept him on life support so people could say goodbye to a vegetable who could not hear them. Lives could have been saved. Now go and feel bad about yourself.

did the mom expect him to say goodbye back?

Horrible situation for the family, but the mom made the right call.

the "right call" prevented the donation of organs.

The right call allowed for closure for the family. The chance for the children to say goodbye to their father and say that they loved him one last time, even if he was unable to hear it. It's a crucial part of the healing process for the survivors. Yes, it's a shame that the organs couldn't have been donated, but the mom made the right choice for her family. The son was being too attached and unaccepting of reality, refusing to let go.

And I'm speaking as a son who had to make that decision with my own father 3 years ago. I had the luxury of having visited my father and said my goodbyes, even if he was unresponsive, before the choice to turn off life support had to be made.

Instead of biatching about how 'selfish' the family was, the lesson that should be taken away is that life and your family are precious; never pass up the opportunity to tell your family that you love them, because you might not never get the chance to tomorrow.

What do I have to feel bad about? Being an empathic human being that completely understands what the Camacho family just endured?

Nope. Sorry. Go back under the bridge and try to shake down some goats.

Vanna White, for one. Yes, the same fair-skinned, blonde-haired Vanna White from Wheel Of Fortune.

And a bunch of other hot Puerto Rican chicks, too. (some images may be NSFW - click at your own risk)

/I honestly don't understand why people are using this drug deal gone wrong as a reason to deny Puerto Rico statehood
//this sort of thing could have happened anywhere, with anybody
///if some nobody was shot in the head and killed over a bad coke deal in New York or Kansas or California or Wyoming, would anyone care? If not, then why do people care that some former-somebody was shot in the head and killed over a bad coke deal in Puerto Rico, apart from the fact that he used to be a somebody?
