Earguy: Whoa. An REM song in a commercial, even though it was for UGA? That was REM, right?

Haven't heard REM in a commecial since Microsoft got permission to use It's the End of the World As We Know It, for a Windows release.

Actually, MS didnt get permission to use it, and went with "Start Me Up" from the Stones instead. Stipe said he didn't like selling sings for commercial ventures, except movies, which he considers "art."

ScouserDuck: mediablitz: seventypercent: I don't always kick field goals, but when I do, Collective Soul gets used as the bumper music.

LMAO. I went there too. "Collective Soul? Really?"...

Wasn't as wierd as "jump, jive and wail" to start it off.

And now Coldplay.

IamKaiserSoze!!!: mediablitz: ffish: Notre Dame is a legit top team this year, but it's mostly their defense. If they play Alabama they'll get crushed, but 'bama would crush pretty much anyone at this point.

I grew up a huge Notre Dame fan. I do think they are a GOOD team, but not top 5. I think they get stomped by any of the teams behind them.

They had a tough schedule and beat some good teams. I think they are the most overly dissed team in the NCAA.

Not a ND fan and never root for them, but c'mon

They have 1 good win...1 (Oklahoma). Triple OT against Pitt, almost lost to BYU, and needed the refs to give them the Stanford game. They are very lucky to be where they are today.

IlGreven: Commemorative jersey just for the Michigan game. Usually they're white (as are the numbers).

Thanks, that makes sense. I thought there was something wrong with my eyes for a second.

Penn State fans would be cheering Paterno's corpse if it was wheeled in, doesn't change the fact that a school shouldn't be celebrating coaches that were forced out in disgrace.

Spaced Cowboy: Just a one time alternate jersey being used for this game. The helmet is different too. Shinier chrome with a wider stripe.

So they're worth more tattoos than the regular ones?

Meh. I watched 6 of their games. Big fan, but saw the same old no offense, decent defense.

They had a sort of tough schedule, and beat some okay teams. Squeaked by Purdue. Barely beat Michigan, BYU, and Pitt. Their one really big win was over Oklahoma, and an OT win over Stanford.

I hope I'm wrong, but my brain tells me I'm right...

ffish: steamingpile: ffish: Also, a blog post about the BCS picture.

Here are the odds as of right now:

Alabama in title game: 87.1%
Notre Dame in title game: 71.1%
BCS confusion: 30.9%
Georgia in title game: 9.5%
Oregon in title game: 1.4%

For explanations, see the link.

I don't get the explanations for UGA, I understand close wins but doesn't change the fact that IF they beat bama they are in.

I would give them a 40% chance to be there and that's only about the same percentage I give them to beat bama, I would give them more of a chance but Richt and all that.

My computer gives them a 75% shot against GT and about 11% against Alabama.

You should tweak that computer model then, GT had zero shot at winning this game, mainly because they have the shiattiest defense I have ever seen, christ they lost to mtsu for gods sake.

But I get it since its solely the computers who just look at stats/facts, I just saw a weak bama team the past month or so and with LSU almost losing to a shiat team makes the game appear close.

It's a celebration of greatness. The man was a great coach for Ohio State and will be remembered fondly by the vast majority of alumni and fans.

A national title, 9-1 against michigan, more Big Ten hardware than we know what to do with, a Heisman trophy.

That kind of resume is going to get you some respect in this town. That tame little scandal is hardly damaging enough to permanently ruin the man's reputation.

It also says a lot about vengeance vultures who are incapable of dropping grudges. He's not the coach. Move on, let those who'll cheer him cheer him, and stop wishing vengeance on everyone. Life's too short.
