I watched ponies this morning. Yesterday, I saw Princess Mononoke in a theater with friends, because the IFC Center is having a Miyazaki festival. We then went to a place that serves liquor-spiked milkshakes (REALLY good ones. Better than Shake Shack).

Question for all the pony-butthurt people here... what's your problem, exactly? I don't mean "what's your problem" like some attitude-laden bit of sarcasm. I mean, what is exactly if the problem with your outlook on life that you feel so angry at people, socially awkward or not, genuinely enjoying something without irony? Are you jealous that you can't shrug, let go, and just... enjoy something without all these hooks of what you "should" be doing?

Speaking of discovering the beaver, maybe if you spent less time chastising people on the Internet for liking a TV show that you don't, and more time actively getting laid, you'd have a better disposition. You always hear men tell women who are really uptight and coontish that they need a good dicking.....well, maybe you need a good vagina'ing.

Ugh. Look, there's lot of stuff I'm not into. Like anal sex, cottage cheese, Justin Bieber, and wearing jeggings......but I don't go into threads about those things and tell people who are into them, something's wrong with them/they suck/they're not men (or women)/they're pedophiles/they're gay/etc. Don't you have something better to do with your day? It's a beautiful, sunny Saturday here where I am -- if it's like that where you are, go outside, take a walk.

Full disclosure; I'm a 30 year old woman who hasn't watched cartoons or animated anything in about 20 years, but I don't give a fark what people want to watch on the magic talking picture box.

PeterBeck: Shadow Blasko: They should just call her Dee. Could be Ditzy... could be Derpy. Let the fans decide for themselves.

I think that's a solid compromise. I could live with Derpy being nicknamed Dee.

I'd kinda like to see them bring her back into the foreground with more tact used. Say, do an episode where the moral is to not underestimate people with apparent disabilities.
For example, maybe the Cakes have to leave town for some reason, and they hire Dee as an assistant to Pinky while they're gone. You keep the clumsiness, but drop the doofy voice.
"I don't know what when wrong." could still be a catchphrase.
Anyway, the point would be to then have a bunch of set-ups of Pinkie getting her to help with making cakes and candies and ultimately klutzing it up until Pinkie starts over-compensating
and eventually just tells Dee to stand back, something that would bring Pinkie to realize how she's badly acting to her because it's so out of Pinkie's regular character, and then it would
end with some bit where she goes to apologize and discovers that Dee went ahead and made a batch of muffins that turned out better than perfect, and it all ends up with a Dear Princess Celestia
moment (maybe even cap it off with Celestia getting two letters, the second being Dee's, which is covered in ink spills and smudges).

A man can dream...

I used to hate on bronies, then one day...

My daughters: "Daddy put on the pony show(on netflix)"
Me: "What about Dora?"
My daughters: "Pony show...pppllleeeaaaasseee"
Me: "Sigh...ok."

Later that day:

My daughters: "Daddy can we go outside to play?"
Me: "No damnit, we have to see if they get their cutie marks this episode! Sit down and watch it!"

I'm really happy that Fark is giving us a weekly thread for the new episodes. Now I wish they would just do something about the trolls. Every thread is the same, can't talk about the show for all the trolls and butthurt macho men who somehow think us enjoying the show is somehow threatening their idea of masculinity. If the mods would keep that stuff out these threads would be a lot more enjoyable.

You have to realize the EVERY thread will have a "turd in it's punch-bowl" and if you fark long enough, eventually, the turd is you. I do the wrestling threads and every week it's "why is this in the sports tab? Or "you're gay for watching" Whatever. I still enjoy The Walking Dead. Every week somebody says it sucks. There's nothing anyone can do. Now I don't watch or understand this show, but have no problem with any of you. Ignore the jokes and trolls, malicious or not. My earlier post wasn't quite a turd. More of a nugget. Just a gentle ribbing. You bronies seem like a good bunch especially out of these threads so carry on guys and gals.

Fine you got me I'm distressed and angered inside by...bronies? And well played on another pony pic, did not see that coming.

Considering the amount of whining about ponies you are doing in a pony thread you certainly do seem a bit upset, or just desperate for attention.

You are really trying to paint me as angry or loathsome of you when I simply find it to be a bizarre fetish on par Twilight, beanie babies, furries, or other such kitsch trends, and truly don't give a shiat. However all are certainly deserving of being openly mocked, and I certainly enjoy mocking you.

For someone who really "doesn't give a shiat", you've posted over 20 times in this thread to defend your position of "laughing at someone".

You do realize you're not in kindergarten anymore, by the way? Your personal opinion of someone on FARK really means..well, it means less than Mitt Romney does. And that's nothing.

And the fact that you equate liking colorful pastel pony characters with a sexual fetish tells me you have a seriously disturbed thought process. Hell. Even the furry fandom has it's members which enjoy it for things other than sex.

So it's pretty obvious you care a lot more than you're letting on. I mean, painfully, South Park mocking-worthy obvious.

The important part, however, is that you've managed to feel superior to someone, well, anyone really. I've seen what lonliness and isolation can do to a person. I'm glad you're atleast trying to break that cycle - even if it is in an unhealthy and self-destructive manner like obsessively trolling on the internet.

Considering the amount of whining about ponies you are doing in a pony thread you certainly do seem a bit upset, or just desperate for attention.

I also get a kick out of all the biatching and whining people come into threads to do about subjects they hate, because their continual biatching and whining adds dozens of posts to the count and makes the thread look more successful than it already is, almost guaranteeing another thread on the subject next week because of how many clicks this one got.

Season premier? 110 posts.
Too Many Pinkie Pies? 197 posts.
This week? Over 200, and climbing.

And more clicks on the links from week to week, too. And I'd bet more clicks on the thread.

The geniuses who post multiple times to whine like they've been captured by Diamond Dogs make these threads more successful by the week and don't even realize it.

So thanks, guys. Keep coming back and doing more of this.

Finally watched the episode.

Pretty boilerplate as far as your usual "serious message"-type kid's shows episodes go. Like many, I don't really care for the CMC-centric episodes, but this one was tolerable thanks to a catchy tune (I'm waiting on the Eurobeat remix).

As far as the story goes, it was pretty obvious what was going on as soon as Babs kept hiding herself. The A-Team montage was enjoyable, but not much else in the episode stood out besides the song, which is the best one of this season so far, but still nothing better than previous ones.

Overall, a better-than-average CMC episode, which makes it a strictly average episode of the series.

/next episode should be amazing, though

I aint crying -- but considering what happened the first time Derpy opened her mouth, I pretty much doubted she was gonna get an episode.

Which is why I expressed incredulity at your claims of her getting an episode for herself.

That was a furious debacle, wasn't it? Personally, I did find the voice to be a little offensive, but not deserving of the reaction it got, and it made me wonder where everyone one was when the show implied that the Native American Wars could have been solved by the Native Americans just accepting the white people's ways and presence.

The problem was that no one bothered to tell Tabitha the gender of the pony she was supposed to be voicing, so she went with a slightly boyish voice, since according to her, the character (as described by the script) reminded her of a boy in her neighborhood who, while well-meaning, is sort of a klutz and tends to make things worse.

Later on, she picked up on Derpy being a girl, but it was too late by then.

BronyMedic: LoneWolf343: ...my brain broke trying to glean a gender from that image.

She's "transitioning", but her plumbing is still male. Still, I refuse to insult transgendered people by calling them a gender pronoun that doesn't describe them.

Yamino's a biatch, and that was before the whole "Sister Claire White Knights the Disabled" debacle with Derpy and Friendship is Magic. It's pretty common knowledge in con circles that she's incredibly rude to her fans and the public alike, and that she's got a "I'm better than you because I'm more in tune with Social Justice" attitude when it comes to picking causes to white knight. She tends to get her Sister Claire fanbase whipped up about whatever social justice cause she wants to white knight at the time, and apparently the badly acted voice caused her to get up in arms.

She's the kind of person you'd love to punch in the face just for being a dick.

One Word: Yamino.

Yamino and her SIster Claire webcomic fanbase were responsible for the majority of the outrage, and the letter-bombing campaign that forced Hasbro to push Derpy out of the cartoons and into more and more obscurity.

This, by the way, is Yamino.

Mid_mo_mad_man: Listen up I'm only going to say this once. Any male over ten who watches MLP is not a man and may not even have testicles. Grow the fark up and leave the ponies to the girls

Because real men care about what strangers on the internet think of them.

Another episode, massive crowd scenes, no Derpy.

Looks like she's gone.

WhippingBoy: The only lesson in bullying I want is instructions on how to reduce grown men who watch little kids shows to tears.

I don't imagine it would be that hard.

doglover: Mike_LowELL: Stop watching shows for little kids. Dora the Explorer is superior in every way.

It's not a show for little kids, it's an animated cartoon for fans of animation.

Yeah, plus, You can't trust a show with a blue helper monkey.
