bronyaur1: Seriously, just be careful and use common sense. Hitting on the boss's wife is not a good idea. Especially if she reciprocates.
ms_lara_croft: FTA: "Use Brain Good"Was the editor drunk when working?
NowhereMon: Training FTW.
gopher321: Anyone tried RU-21?
basemetal: OR.......you could just not drink so damn much, ya farking lushes./damned social retards//don't know how to act
MayoSlather: It's pretty much guaranteed I'll wake up in the morning hungover, and frantically trying to remember all the embarrassing things I said. It's kind of how I wake up everyday.
xSauronx: NowhereMon: Training FTW.this. i am renowned in my group of friends for being able to out drink all of them and not get a hangover.
Slaxl: You can really see the difference in class of readers. The commenters there are saying "drink less", "tolerance is dependency", and other crap, but here everyone is drunk all the time. Anyone found sober usually gets a ban. Fark 1 - 0 Rest of the Internet.
palelizard: xSauronx: NowhereMon: Training FTW.this. i am renowned in my group of friends for being able to out drink all of them and not get a hangover.I was like that in college. It wears off later in life. I can still drink a lot, but the recovery takes longer and longer nowadays.

As a teen to early 20s I could get as drunk as I want and I would have zero hang-over effects once it wore off. Now as I'm nearly 38, if I drink to the point of drunkenness, you can pretty much guarantee that I'm going to feel like shiat for nearly the entire next day, and occasionally even two days.Other factors for my current state could be that I don't drink on a regular basis anymore. I might have 1-3 drinks a couple times a month on average now, and get drunk much less often (although the last time was the night before Thanksgiving making for a less-fun-than-normal holiday). I also take 3-6mg of Ativan daily which makes my initial tolerance to alcohol high, but seems to make it much more difficult for me to gauge when I'm about to cross the spins and/or puking line.
titwrench: If ever there was a definitive list of what not to do at a company party everything on that list would happen at ours. We have been banned from 2 hotels and 1 convention center. We have drunkenness, hook ups, fist fights, girls showing boobies, more fist fights, drugs, you name it it happens.
Slaxl: "tolerance is dependency"
Fuggin Bizzy: Slaxl: "tolerance is dependency"That's interesting, man, that's farking interesting. I'm gonna have to mull that one over a bit./Quit drinking heavily in June. Was surprised to go through 10 days of withdrawal symptoms.//"My name's Fuggin, and I'm an alcoholic." ... "Hi, Fuggin."
zamboni: That which doesn't make us throw up only makes us stronger. That which makes us throw up makes us strongerer.
DeaH: Plenty of water is your friend. If you're not a regular drinker, drink enough to know your limits before you drink at any type of company event. I have seen many a career damaged early on by an open bar at a company event. And, though I know this is heresy on Fark, if you know you can't drink much without getting stupid-drunk, learn about beverages that look alcoholic but are not. I suggest club soda with a splash of cranberry juice and a splash of Rose's lime.

Now as I'm nearly 38, if I drink to the point of drunkenness, you can pretty much guarantee that I'm going to feel like shiat for nearly the entire next day, and occasionally even two days. That's me in reverse. Probably because when I was young I didn't drink very often and usually drank to get drunk, but now at 49 I've been drinking every evening for a few years and seldom manage to stay awake long enough to get very drunk anymore. The time between catching a buzz and going to sleep is gradually lengthening though.Alcohol-induced sedation is why I only drink more than two when I'm home or very near it, even if I have a ride: people tell me my snoring annoys them, and I hate it when they forget to walk around me. Even atop the bar or table I'm not safe.
WhippingBoy: I'm going to my wife's company party next Saturday. It's at a brew pub. We've been instructed (by her boss) to "drink to oblivion".
