No troll. They just are not funny.
not everything absurd from the 70's was funny.
And python are one of those not funny things.

See, a real old fart would say "I don't find them funny", because he knows other people have other opinions. Fake Old Farts take the Grandpa Simpson approach and proclaim whatever is inside their head as Fact.

You know, Fox News viewers.

Under appreciated was his face in black & white. Check him out in Fail Safe, where I think he delivers an excellent performance. (And if you've never seen it, watch it for Walter Matthau scaring the hell out of you.)

OtherLittleGuy: IlGreven: And thus, TNT's hopes for a third season of the Dallas revival go right into the toilet.

It's a soap. They set up a "Next Generation" rivaliry already.

The ratings on Dallas: TNG skew old, meaning mostly old people were watching, probably because of JR and Bobby. Now, the main attraction is old.

Anyway, I never could understand why Major Nelson was such a tightass. You got a hot blonde calling you "Master", wanting to make your every dream come true, and you're too busy worrying about your stupid NASA job to take advantage of it? C'mon, man, she could have you in space literally in the blink of an eye! Then you could get that out of your system and get down to using her like a muppet.

To all those who don't find Python funny, you're certainly entitled to your opinion. Humor is subjective.

On the other hand, if you tell me Monty Python isn't funny, but Will Ferrell is hysterical, well, you really need some help.

Oh, and RIP Mr. Hagman. You made me laugh in I Dream of Jeannie, and I enjoyed your serious roles as well.

He was Captain Jack Harkness before Captain Jack Harkness.

Oh wow.. the irony of those two sentences together..

Learn the definition of 'irony'

Yeah, I think the definition of Pretentious is calling Monty Python overrrated.

um...not at all. Lauding the comedy of a troupe that I find to be PAINFULLY unfunny just because everyone else does...now THAT would be pretentious.

I'm pretty sure it's something like this:

Unfunny people - calling them funny = easily amused.

Funny people - calling them unfunny = pretentious.

Every once in a while, a celebrity is a real person and for me this is one of those times.

I have met Larry and his wife Maj, at their home in Ojai, and they are warm, charming, gracious, generous, kind, thoughtful, hospitable folks. And they love dogs. Good people all around.

RIP Larry Hagman and condolences to all his loved ones. Really a memorable, remarkable man and on the whole a life well lived. Blessings and peace on his soul.

whatshisname: spman: Dallas is without a doubt one of the best shows in the history of all television

Not really.

It was a mildly interesting soap opera that was aired in prime time.

This just in.

Different people like different things.
And....you're wrong. Mainly because I can tell you weren't even alive during Dallas from the shows you listed.

What a shame, Dallas is without a doubt one of the best shows in the history of all television, and JR Ewing will forever be an icon of the soap opera genre. JR was an integral part of Season 2 of the new series, I don't see how they could put his character on a bus without killing the show. Hell, he was the best part of the revival, and quite frankly my interest in the show without him has now dropped to almost zero. RIP Larry

I always think of him as Major Nelson more than JR. I think it was because of all that Nick at Night I watched when my kids were babies and they wouldn't sleep.
