To resolve the Monthy Python debate, it's quite simple..

They go from ok stuff to very funny, but it requires either proper references and knowledge or intelligence to understand their type and style of humour.

Not everyone consider a man getting hit in the balls to be the greatest if only funny thing.

To all those who don't find Python funny, you're certainly entitled to your opinion. Humor is subjective.

On the other hand, if you tell me Monty Python isn't funny, but Will Ferrell is hysterical, well, you really need some help.

Oh, and RIP Mr. Hagman. You made me laugh in I Dream of Jeannie, and I enjoyed your serious roles as well.

The fact still is, Larry Hagman did his best work with Monty Python. In fact, he left the troupe over a disagreement with John Cleese over whether or not to change the name to "Larry Hagman's Flying Circus". When Cleese refused, Larry shot him, and that ended up being the basis for the famous "Who Shot J.R.?" Dynasty episode.

Think I wore out a patch of carpet in front of the tv grinding my prepubescent groin into the floor watching her every week.

FTA:
"Mr. Hagman died at 4:20 p.m. Friday at Medical City Dallas Hospital of complications of cancer"

heh. 4:20.

My mom was obsessed with Dallas.  She had a poster of J. R. in our basement that said something like "the man you love to hate".

Bukharin: Python sucks. Get over it.

You sound like Perl developer, or worse Java.

RIP - J.R.

Don't worry, he'll be back. No matter how many times you kill him, he just brushes himself off and smokes some frop.

'Meh' as to his acting.

It seemed to me that as he got older he actually thought he was J.R. Ewing and acted just a slimy as the character.

His 'quit smoking' schtick got old, too.

Oh wow.. the irony of those two sentences together..

Learn the definition of 'irony'

Yeah, I think the definition of Pretentious is calling Monty Python overrrated.

No, the definition of pretentious is saying "Learn the definition of 'irony'"

lol. No, a pretentious person would use words in everyday conversation without knowing their definitions. You know, like you two.

whatshisname: spman: Dallas is without a doubt one of the best shows in the history of all television

Not really.

It was a mildly interesting soap opera that was aired in prime time.
Best shows in the history of television might include The Wire, The Sopranos, Breaking Bad, Sherlock, Monty Python and anything else that is nothing like Dallas.

You may have forgotten The Twilight Zone and The Outer Limits on your list.

Strange that there was a Jeannie & Bewitched post, Sad that it was a death notice for Larry. It's like the strange coincidences between Kennedy & Lincoln

You sound like my mother in law; biatching about all her relatives bad choices that "did them in" in their 80's. He indulged in the excess he wanted and grew old anyway. If you seriously think he would wish to have lived like an ascetic to gain precious years of doddery you need to remove the thorny branch from your rectum.

I think if there's anyone who needs to remove anything from one's rectum, it's you. Who cares about your mother-in-law?

//no teetotaler, I
//thought Hagman pretty damn awesome and respected him a lot
///go fly a kite, man

Well, I care about having to listen to her incessant biatching about this issue for the last 16 years. But it appears I read something into your post that wasn't there. Apologies, then.

And thanks for the idea it's beautiful and breezy out I think I will go fly my kite.

///WTF it's not quoting you. Oh well that means no one will read it. Yippee!

You might try for an example that's actually true.

uh yeah...I just did.
