Just stopping in to say how much I HATE that Charlie Brown movie. fark you, Charlie Brown.

Sort of related, I would have liked to see a picture of the offending tree actually lit to see how bad it is.

Well, that's another type of pathetic. That they came expecting a tree to get them in the mood, and when it failed to do so--their lives are essentially over for the rest of the season.

What did you expect? A pretty tree makes them happy and the people who planned this event really didn't do a good job of it. I got better trees in my front yard that would make a better tree than that monstrosity. What did they spend the money on? Fancy hats with bells on them?

I don't know where to start... my "what's wrong with this person?!" edition could extend for volumes:

1.) "She" didn't expect anything
2.) Who is "them"?
3.) Who planned this?
4.) Was it planned as an event?
5.) Why, if you care so, didn't you make your front lawn an attraction/event?
6.) Would you have taken money to make your tree an attraction/event?
7.) Have you bred yet?

Some countries don't even have Christmas trees, because their climates are so temperate that fir trees don't grow. Won't someone please think of the poor tropical islanders?

Tropical islanders don't live in temperate climates. They live in the tropics. A temperate climate would be the best climate for fir trees to grow because they don't experience extreme temperatures. They're temperate.

It's North Kent, about 30 minutes drive from my house. I've been through Herne bay several times, mainly for work purposes as I'd certainly never go there for fun. 'God's Waiting Room' would be an apt description. That said, Gareth Gates and Toyah bloody Wilcox were on hand to give the oldies something to clap along to.

At least no-one kneed a pregnant woman in the stomach

Treat me like you did the night before
oh the night before
Why don't we do it in the road
NO one will be watching us
blackbird singing in the dead of night
take these broken wings and learn to fly
all your life
you were only waiting for this moment to arise
she loves you yeah yeah yeah
with a love like that you know you would be glad
give it up for dennis o'bell
roll up
roll up for the mystery tour
it's an invitation
everywhere there's lots of piggies
living piggy lives
you can see them out for dinner
with their piggy wives
whisper words of wisdom
love me do
you know i love you
back in the ussr
dont know how lucky you are girl
two of us sunday driving
not arriving
on our way home
we're on our way home
newspaper taxis appear on the shore
hoping to take you away
cried for no one
a love that could've lasted years

They say it damages trade but come on, who was really planning to go to Herne Bay, Kent to see their Christmas tree? If anything a shiat tree is better because now people know about it and might go "haha I gotta see this!"

Maybe they were just booing Gareth Gates and Toyah Wilcox?

Families might be less inclined to do their Christmas shopping there if there is a more festive alternative available

:And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, 'Fear not: for behold, I bring unto you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the City of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.' And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host, praising God, and saying, 'Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.'"

"That's what Christmas is all about, Charlie Brown"

And it's a fine tree.

The most sincere tree ever.

Well, let's say this Twinkie represents the normal amount of hate for Christmas decorations in the Herne Bay area. Based on this morning's sample, it would be a Twinkie... thirty-five feet long, weighing approximately six hundred pounds.

they need to see my tree, its completely undecorated except for a shotgun shell sitting on top in place of the star, when anyone asks I tell em it is a "cartridge in a bare tree"

/for those that don't get it, sing to the tune of the 12 days of Christmas

And then they find out that it was a gift to the town from thankful orphans and special needs children....
