brantgoose: Here's the culprits:982 (=1014) Benjamin Newcomb, b. Edgartown, Mass., ... [ca. 1700], d. Waterborough [now Canning], Sunbury Co., New Brunswick, Canada, ...http://www.wargs.com/political/heath.htmlOn the plus side, I also found a Governor Walter Clarke of Rhode Island who may or may not be related to Hannah Clark but is the father of another Clark(e) ancestor. He is the son of another Governor.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeremy_Clarke_(governor)http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walter_Clarke_(governor)The Clark(e)s moved from Rhode Island to Connecticut before the Revolution and then to Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. I wouldn't be surprised if they were Quakers. Now that's what I call irony!McCain's ancestors are mostly Irish-Scots from the South. Obama has the most diverse family tree, being part African, part British, and so forth. This is typical of many African Americans who are descended from slaves and masters alike, or from the rare individual who dared to flout racism and snobbery to marry across race lines. I don't know Biden's family background but I do know I have related to 13 American Presidents (which is not ...

cman: I just want to know one thing: why does it bother people to find out that they are distantly related to politicians they abhor? Why should it matter if Palin is a 13th cousin 8 times removed? Why does something like that sicken you? Do you not know that pretty much we humans all have one common ancestor, right? We are all related.
PreMortem: I can trace mine all the way back to Adam and Eve.
