I suggested to Michelle's gynecologist that a zip-line should be installed out of her birthin' cannon for convenience - but the uppity doc wouldn't go for it.
The fellas at TLC LOVED the idea and planned an amusement park ride using the concept.

16 kids isn't a family, it's a litter. The only reason to have such a large brood is if you expect most of them to die before adulthood. This isn't the Middle Ages. In the Western world, modern medical care has brought the infant mortality rate way, way, way down. With 7 billion people on the planet, unfettered breeding is irresponsible and a waste of resources. You have to clothe and feed and educate all those kids. How much attention does each one get? I don't know if it's even possible for two people to care for so many offspring, which means the older kids have to shoulder the burdens of parenthood for their siblings.

So, yes, I have a dislike of large families. There is no argument you can make to show that it's beneficial for anyone.

if the woman spends just a few times a day doing kegals, it will not be hotdog/hallway territory even after 20 kids.

If she and her hubby were adopted you'd want to believe they'd adopt the thousands of kids they want instead of spawning them.

I was the last. 22 minutes flat. Was nearly born in Admissions. Mom says the ladt thing she remembers is her doctor checking her dilation and saying "oops."

You might think, but then again some adopted people are very resentful about having been given up and set out to prove you don't have to give kids up for adoption. A distant relative of mine (by two marriages, both of which are now divorced) was adopted and had a very privileged life in her adopted home. Until she intentionally got pregnant at 13 and 15 to prove that point. Just ask, she'll tell you. In fact, the asking isn't important.

The arguments you've made, though, are all rhetorical. I'm not a fan of people having more children than they can support, but this crowd seems to have somehow managed it: they're not even on the dole. More power to them for that; the only worry I have is that they might encourage people who can't possibly pull it off to try anyway.

One of seven billion people on a planet with dwindling natural resources and arable land?

At this point in history, any child after the second should require the parents to off themselves at 50. Make some room for those of us who don't reproduce like a virus.

Blah blah blah. Brainless Methusians are brainless. Empower women with equal rights, and lift populations out of poverty and overpopulation completely goes away. For each couple who chose to invest their time in a brood, there are three who take up travel/fancy cars/dancing horse/hipsterism/etc as their hobby. The US is now below replacement birthrate, which leaves the only first world nation actually breaking even on population growth France (I think, unless they've lagged recently). Populations that don't live in shiatholes naturally limit their population growth, that's documented fact. And it doesn't take any of your I-have-to-be-at-the-gym-in-26-minutes assholism to make happen.

who looks after her kids in a former care home and is NOT on benefits

Sure, she claims that they're doing fine now, but what happens when one of them gets sick enough to require hospitalization? What happens when the next pregnancy is the one that goes wrong and takes her life?
