up2nfg: If she and her hubby were adopted you'd want to believe they'd adopt the thousands of kids they want instead of spawning them.
ConConHead: I love how they emphasize the family is NOT on public support.
Bondith: Son of Thunder: [Scans thread]Yup. Called it.Nothing brings out the haters 'round these parts like someone having lots of babies.16 kids isn't a family, it's a litter. The only reason to have such a large brood is if you expect most of them to die before adulthood. This isn't the Middle Ages. In the Western world, modern medical care has brought the infant mortality rate way, way, way down. With 7 billion people on the planet, unfettered breeding is irresponsible and a waste of resources. You have to clothe and feed and educate all those kids. How much attention does each one get? I don't know if it's even possible for two people to care for so many offspring, which means the older kids have to shoulder the burdens of parenthood for their siblings. So, yes, I have a dislike of large families. There is no argument you can make to show that it's beneficial for anyone.
Dancin_In_Anson: ConConHead: I love how they emphasize the family is NOT on public support. Not once but twice...And seeing as they are not, who the fark are any of us to criticize them?
aagrajag: At this point in history, any child after the second should require the parents to off themselves at 50.
