Just keep making more How It's Made... I can watch that show for hours and hours. No people (besides their hands usually), no drama, just industrial processes for making the the stuff we use.

I actually liked Dirty Jobs for awhile. It was kinda cool to see jobs people do that you don't really think about. The problem was the last few seasons, it became repetitive.

Mike Rowe seems like a cool guy....he'll land on his feet.

mythbusters' inevitable cancellation can't be too far behind. that show has gotten increasingly stupid in recent years, i can barely watch it anymore. i think dirty jobs' cancellation might also have something to do with them running out of potential jobs, and mike rowe and his crew maybe wanting to move on to something else. they had a good run.

He was a Romney shill in the last election. It might be thats involved. His "intelligent tough guy" image devolved into "just another idiot that listens to FOX news and hates the black guy"

/can you imagine?
//starting to sour on the liberals playing out their "self-righteous image" on Fark

Says in your profile that you're 40. That means you grew up in the days of Magnum PI and Burt Reynolds being the standard of sexy male. And behalf of all hairy men out there, I say god bless you.

Big John's Breakfast Log: Here is every single "Pawn Stars" episode:

Customer: I have this thing here.
PS: That's really cool. How much you want?
Customer: $ (xx)
PS: Ooh, that ain't gonna happen. Economy is bad, it has to sit in my shop and take up space, hard to find a buyer. I will give you much, much less than that.
Customer: Gee, was really hoping for more. But ok.
PS: Ring 'em up, Chumlee.

Rinse, repeat, insert joke about Chumlee.

I can't stand Pawn Stars. Anyone that sells something to a pawn shop is a moran, especially with all the online options to sell items. What people get is instant gratification on items they end up selling for half the value.

I will forever thank Mike Rowe for convincing women that hairy men can actually be sexy and that we don't all have to be waxed down metrosexuals. Not that I, personally, am sexy either way. But it's nice to not have that hair-thing to worry about anymore anyway.

Didn't he walk that back, well before the election mind you, and say "Yeah, I thought it was just a discussion on jobs, not a rally. Whoops."

Not saying that he wasn't naive to the point of stupidity on that one, but he seems like a genuine guy with no real zealotry to either side of American politics.

styckx: Is there anything even good left on that channel besides Mythbusters? The decline of good programming on that channel and history channel was the final push to make me cut the cable cord over the summer. Now I just download the entire 3 shows combined between the two channels I even watched.

Is this a post from 6 years ago? That's about the last time Mythbusters was what I'd call "good". Now it's about an explosion, "testing" completely fictional "myths" from movies, pre-determining if they want to "prove" of "bust a specific myth, and seeing how many times in one episode they can claim that they're using "science" as they proceed to flush the scientific method down the same toilet that they determined was the cleanest surface in your hose(One of the few really well done myths in a long time). I refuse to watch reality TV, but the few times I watched Dirty Jobs, I really liked it. I'm sure they've got another redneck based show in the works where they're doing some job that nobody gives a fark about.

Sigh... I can remember the days when my only complaint is that they had more commercials than showtimes and that they would go to those commercial breaks with a two minute "when we come back" teaser, and then come back with a 2 minute "just before we left" recap. I sat down and did the math one time, and figured out that you're getting something like 20 minutes worth of show in an hour. The rest was either commercials or them telling you what you just finished watching. I miss those days...

Not getting the Spiffy tag. If anything Dirty Jobs was one of the few shows that kept with the Discovery Channel theme anymore. Sure it wasn't nature documentaries or "science of X", but it explored interesting and unique jobs and saught to educate viewers about them. Unlike say Deadliest Catch, a show about ONE job that focuses on a drama between the people like every damn reality show.

Though Discovery has been going the way TLC has for years now. With the History Channel two steps ahead.

Though I did see a promo for a new History Channel show that will deal with... You know, human history the other day. Who'd a thunk it?
