The Mexican Federales have seen the "State's Rights" dust kicking up in the US, and they're trying to nip it in the bud.

that's easy, section them off in rectangular pens -- for maximum cost efficiency, and label them -- in big block letters you can see from maps.google.com -- HEROIN, MARIHUANA, OPIUM, LSD, MUSHROOMS

and the hardcore users in the states (heh heh) can take free vacations to the locale of their choice once they're earned up enough points, where points = USD.

Yeah, but that eventually gave birth to New Mexicola. Everyone in Mexicola who was hoping for something better went there, but came running back after they realized that it was nothing more than Mexicola that had been ruined by white people.

It's not what you call yourselves. It's what the rest of the world calls you. It's why this land that's in between Canada and Los Estados Unidos Mexicanos and is one-third of North America gets called "America" and when anyone else in the world calls someone an "American" with that barely-disguised sneer in their voice everyone knows they're not referring to someone from Toronto or Tijuana. It's because everyone else calls the northern third of the place "Canada", the southern third "Mexico" and the place in the middle "America."

So no matter what the President of Los Estados Unidos Mexicanos wants his country to be called, the world is going to call it Mexico. Sorry.

Some names Mexico can adopt:

"Third World Craphole"

"Cartelocracy"

"6% European Descent in Nation...99% European Descent on TeleNovelas"

"America Labor Force"

"Marco Rubio"

How about do the reverse?
Get rid of Mexico...that's only one word to remove...and be the United States.

Just think of the military you'll have access to. (great for removing drug lords and gangs)

And NOW, even more fossil fuels...

And your citizens won't have to try to become theirs.

The US now need more states to even out the stars on the flag since Puerto Rico wants to become one,
and we're finally adopting spanish as an alternative language...especially now latinos are a third of the electorate.

You could be like what Quebec is to Canada.
It all works out. Win-Win. :)

Bah. I knew this. I mention it whenever arrogant twits complain that the name of our country isn't "America" -- it's "The United States of America," and why do you ignoramuses insist on calling it "America?"

Because, farkwit, no other nation has "America" in its name, but at least one other nation has "United States" in its name.

So, please, keep the current name for Mexico. I'll lose smug points if you change it.

Funnily enough, Canadians don't call the USA "America" but just "The States". Mexico is still called Mexico.

Been in both Eastern Europe and non-tourist trap Mexico. Mexico is a lot worse.

Not sure if Sarah Palin can see Russia from her house in Alaska....but you can definitely see one of the nastiest Third World HellHoles from the end zone at the Sun Bowl in El Paso....the Juarez "Colonias" would make a rural Moldovan gasp

Yeah, it's pretty easy to spot the border there. El Paso with all its built up, modern buildings and, a short distance away, there are neighborhoods consisting largely of tin roof shacks more or less cobbled together from scraps of whatever building material they could find.

You can see this in other border towns along the Texas/Mexico border as well. Yes, the touristy areas in the bordertowns are typically in somewhat decent shape, but travel a few blocks over and you'll see a different story as you enter the "colonia" neighborhoods.
