Snuffybud: laulaja: Meant to say, glad Snuffybud seems to be feeling better.
Have also completed the intended on-line shopping; on sale & free shipping to boot. Tho unable to find exact ones seen yesterday; These'll Do. 4 guys in Plumbicon's chorus remain of the once-flock of WW2 vets. [i.imgur.com image 211x225]
Not perzactly the ones bought, but gives you the idea. Thought I saw one with 2 flags & either 1st line or 2d between them; optical Aleutian or dreamed it. The one for he who went in right after the war (almost old enough but not quite) has eagle on top & 'MERICA in flag print.  There's also version with either Union Jack as flag or Union Jack in outline of main island of UK.

Snuffycat is feeling better. He just whacked Desicat and bit me. He helped us by riding on the cat tree as Nick and I carried it back to the dining room. He's back to normal. He's still not going out for a couple of days though!

He's just making sure it's a well balanced tree. What a good little helper kitteh!

Snuffybud so glad to hear that Snuffycat is feeling better. You are an excellent cat slave. Baseline blood work has it's advantages. I suspect that when we take Eli in for his rabies shot, bloodwork will be suggested.

Today was a completely miserable day in Mordor, so I am about to treat myself to some retail therapy. It's late enough now that the rabid crowds should be gone, but I can still take advantage of the sales. Asking myself "Am I optimistic or just plain crazy?" ;-)

I have learned through harsh experience that "optimistic" and "crazy" usually go hand in hand. Welcome to the club! Yay! Shopping! Don't forget your pepper spray!

I shopped around 2:00 today. Not really cazy, which was nice. I bought Eli a new cat toy. It is a biiig rat, with glowing eyes. The eyes light up when kitteh touches it..might have to add it to the halloween stash...it was 2 bucks...

Yesterday I was telling my former brother in law about Jack and the meter reader. He proceeded to tell me about his brother and the meter reader. His brother lives in Florida in the middle of nowhere. He also used to work with animals in the circus , now he occasionally rehabs exotic animals. He was babysitting an elephant for a friend for a few weeks. The elephant was out in the front yard when the meter reader pulls up in his car and gets out of his car wearing a yellow jumpsuit (part of their uniform) .It turns out the elephant has bad memories of a trainer who wore a yellow outfit to perform. The elephant let out a yell and chased the meter reader back to his car while the babysitter got the elephant under control. He told the guy to take off the yellow suit. After that, no problems but the meter reader got a picture for proof. I don't have a picture but if you knew this guy like I do ,you would be saying "It could only happen to him"

There seems to be a plot locally to return us & some other folk to the days of our youths. Cincinnati Christkindlmarkt opened on Fountain Square, center of downtown, this afternoon. Runs til 7PM Sun eve. Only took til this century, there were of course scads of 'em in almost every town & city in W Germany during Plumbicon's military "career".
Turkey'll be done soon; right now looks as if we'll share mostly tomorrow. as Overlords & -Ladies were all hungry half an hour ago.

Well it certainly beat my Jack tried to eat the meter reader.
When this guy was still with the circus he used to stop at my sister's house to visit the family for a weekend every once in awhile, but he always called first to let my sister know what kind of animals he was bringing home. My nieces loved it, my sister not so much.

spinach gunk, Fang Q for linkie back to TheOatmeal, where I see 1) did goshawful croppinage of Thomas Edison's Nightmare, 2) Matthew Inman did commit that, bless his heart & 3) it was indiegogo that ran fundraising effort for the Tesla Museum, which at last report had raised over $1mil when goal was just $850K. cretinbob had asked if IGG was trustworthy enough to run a fundraiser for LittleMews.
Link to the Swedish TV spot involving the artificially done skydiving cats, runs :40, that raised a number of hackles. Here 'tis at end of linkie if you haven't seen it.

I just bought that Totoro shirt last week! I think we own all the Studio Ghibli films, but Totoro will always be my fav. I love the catbus!
My daughter loves Arrietty; but, sadly, the hubs isn't into any of them.

Oh and I guess I should post an obligatory kitty pic since this IS a Caturday thread.

This is Sake. I think she looks a lot like Zuma, akimbotoo's kitty.
She's sleeping on my insanely soft and comfy robe, which I never get to wear anymore.

Kyro: Not to spoil the good spirit, but isn't part of the point of charging an adoption fee to actually add a sense of value to the animal? Shots and vet bills aside, I've heard more than one agency say they charge what they do so people don't adopt them willy-nilly, possibly resulting in the animal being abandoned.

While I understand (and agree with) your concern, I would like to think that any shelter/adoption center would continue to thoroughly vet potential adopters despite the cost.

Awwww! I would love to brush their little beards and mustaches and then put Blackbeard style facial hair decorations (sans the burning sticks or whatever he used) on them! They are so cute!

I haven't had a dog since my son was a young child. He's in his 20's now and still somewhat afraid of them. It gives me a sad sometimes, then I look over at my cat, the potential serial killer, and think "at least we have each other, GoGo Beastie". Then the sad isn't quite so bad.

/still wants a dog
//one that will fit in my handbag so I can walk around with it everywhere with its head sticking out and pretend I'm a rich lady

MizMezcalita, fang q too for the photo of Leonardo. Happy you know appear to have "the knack" of pix-posting. Also hope your place that lets you prep them is kinder to you, if you now sorta know your way around it, than some of the long-used ones have been to folk who frequent them lately.

No problem. I was laughing pretty hard too. :)
How old is your kitty? He/she is very cute!

Here's my kitty. She decided I was spending way too much time on the computer and not enough time petting her.
She was quite considerate though. At least she didn't sit ON the keyboard.
