Union Lines Facing Henry Hill, Manassas National BattlefieldManassas, VirginiaThe first official ground conflict of the US Civil War occurred on this battlefield, as well as the 2nd Battle of Manassas (Bull Run). The Henry house was inhabited by several women, one of whom was the only civilian casualty of the battle. She sustained a bullet wound while lying in her bed as the battle raged through the family's fields. After the war, the family turned it into a museum of the battle.
