Subby is easily impressed

2012-11-21 01:12:30 PM
You why subby sucks? Because Shawn Lane is the best farking guitar player that has ever lived, and that DVD ("Paris, with Jonas Helborg") is farking brilliant, that crap notwithstanding.

Aga of the Ladies

Same farking set, for that matter. The stuff he starts with at about the 6:00 mark is boggley good.

/ Helborg is also a farking freak.

It was nice of him to let that mentally challenged guy sit next to him. I wonder if the out of rhythm clapping was distracting?

I really wanted to like that so I could seem cultured in some way, but after 2 minutes, I felt like leaving the bookstore I thought I was in.

Seems like half the comments in here echo my thoughts. Boring. Tedious. I want my time back. I kept waiting for something entertaining to happen, but no, it's a drum circle of one. Unless you count the TOTALLY unnecessary clapping guy.

2012-11-21 02:17:09 PM
Boring.

Subby reminds me of the viral video of the baby red panda who goes into shock at the sight of someone's Wellington/ gum boots.

See that wee panda? That's you, that is.

2012-11-21 02:17:33 PM
Quite boring unless you just shot up a few dime bags of some smack, but does anyone by chance happen to know what the drum he is playing is actually called?

Wow. Almost 10min of a guy playing a simple drum. I started skipping ahead after about a min and it all still sounded the same. The guy is good, but I guess you'd have to be in the moment for it to be more than somewhat annoying backgroud music.

2012-11-21 03:40:21 PM
I spent that whole time waiting for a lion to jump out and eat him. You can't just throw around phrases like "HOLY JUMPING FARK" unless it's something startling or exciting. Screw you subby.

Thanks for boring us subby

The other guy is a lousy clapper.

2012-11-21 04:28:52 PM
The guy was impressive. The performance was still boring and way to long. That kid next to him didn't help at all.

For some reason I was reminded of the scene in Death To Smoochy where Edward Norton lets the ex fighter play an instrument on the Smoochy Show.

Ummm, "thanks", subby.

9 minutes of that?? No thanks....no thanks.

That was an awesome 9 minute tamborine solo! The parts I was awake for blew my mind.

Sounds like two fat people banging to a shiatty drum solo.

Well, I liked it.

well, i think it was a more visual thing. maybe if it wasn't a video, it may have worked, but seeing one guy sitting there banging his "tambourine", the guy next to him looks like a fan trying to clap along and failing at it.

it sounded somewhat nice if boring, but the clapping guy kept distracting me because he just looked bad. at first it was funny, and then it seemed like he snuck up there to try to clap alone.

i could be wrong.

It's carnatic music. Here's a Wikipedia link and quote for people who don't want to click it: Carnatic Music "The objective of the accompanying instruments is far more than following the melody and keeping the beats. The accompaniments form an integral part of every composition presented, and they closely follow and augment the melodic phrases outlined by the lead singer."
