No we can't ... we don't like crap pizza

2012-11-20 04:31:35 PM
Not a f*cking chance. I don't care what his political stance is, there's no way I'm buying pizza from a guy who's had that much plastic surgery.

2012-11-20 04:32:33 PM
The fact is we are going to open over hundreds of stores this year

So.. thousands?

2012-11-20 04:33:21 PM
That's nice, but I'm still not going to.

2012-11-20 04:34:17 PM
I'd rather eat the microwave pizza from the gas station. Papa John's is crap.

2012-11-20 04:34:34 PM
I couldn't eat it to begin with

/blecchhh
//not to mention my ex used to manage one of their stores
///wouldn't eat it when it was free, either

2012-11-20 04:34:45 PM
No thanks. Their pizza is terrible.

I notice he didn't address the "eleven to fourteen cents increase per pizza" comments he is on record having made.

2012-11-20 04:37:24 PM
Not when I live a half a block away from 2 real pizzerias.

If he's sincere, then I take back some of the things I said about him.

And I have a confession - I kinda like Papa John's pizza. Well, more for the crust dipping in their garlic butter sause.

OK, bring on the flaming...

Something about closing the barn door after the horses have escaped.

He got called on his shiat and now he's trying to make nice. Not buying it at all.

I did too. I loved that butter stuff. So good.

Yeah, Papa John's isn't all that bad, though these days I have a local place that I like better and is closer. I also enjoyed the garlic butter sauce but it was pretty much guaranteed heartburn, especially on top of two or three slices of pizza.

If I want crappy pizza, I'll just get Little Caesars. It's cheaper and the founder owns the Detroit Tigers.

I am going to spend this year learning how to make my own great pizza.

You know who do the best pizzas? Dominos.

It's not hard to make better, if you're eating at home. Buy a liter bottle of medium cheap extra virgin olive oil and a 4 oz jar of minced garlic. Pour out four ounces of olive oil into some other storage container; put the minced garlic into the liter bottle. Reclose the bottle, shake, then leave sitting around for a week. Adjust garlic-to-oil ratio to personal taste.

Works better with fresh-crushed, if you've time to peel two heads worth of garlic cloves, or somewhere to buy the pre-peeled whole cloves. If you're on a major budget, use bulk granulated garlic instead.

1) Build gigantic brick oven in back yard....

"The remarks that generated the headlines were made during an entrepreneur class I was asked to speak to at a Florida college. "

Interesting; every story I've seen says it was during a conference call... an investor relations conference call, in some stories. I suppose he could have spoken to the class via teleconference. But which school was it, and for whom did this alleged reporter work?

2012-11-20 05:30:08 PM
Papa Johns is the only pizza that gives me indigestion. Actually it is just about the only food that I have ever had that does that. I won't eat any more of that stuff they call pizza.

2012-11-20 05:33:56 PM
Good news, I never ate Papa John's pizza to begin with.

2012-11-20 05:34:05 PM
No, I'll pass. You supported Romney.

Good question. Which reporter broke this story? For example, shouldn't there be a story that says "I questioned Papa John during a class lecture, and he gave me this answer in response to my questions about Obamacare."?

I only buy my pizza from a local artisanal pizza maker that came from the north of Italy and brought his brick oven with him. You've probably never heard of him.

Slaxl: You know who do the best pizzas? Dominos.

I really enjoy Dominos pizza. Their new recipe is way better.

2012-11-20 06:21:38 PM
I thought his comments (as allegedly stated) were a bit odd as they implied that Papa Johns owned all their stores instead of a franchise type org.

I never really ate Papa Johns but it was okay for mass produced delivery. Good to know I won't have to go on some rant if someone suggests ordering some.

They're owned by Bain. No thank you.

He's still promising to cut hours, so if I had been eating it I would continue not eating it.

2012-11-20 07:01:32 PM
"Papa" John's argument seems to be: sure, I crapped away tons of money supporting Mitt Romney...but, it's absurd to think that I'd actually support the claims he was making to get elected.

It's eerily similar to Mitt's own brand of argument (47%): sure, I showed incredible contempt for nearly half the country when I was behind closed doors with my biggest supporters and the kind of people I personally identify with...but, I'm only really telling the truth when I see the klieg lights and know my comments are being recorded for distribution in support of my political ambitions.

WHO THE HELL FALLS FOR THAT SHIAT?

2012-11-20 07:03:14 PM
I think I will walk over to my local guys for a slice

To sum up TFA:

"I never said I'd cut back employee hours in order to take advantage of a loophole in the law. I just said that it's common sense to do that, but I was only speaking hypothetically, because the last thing I'd ever want to do with my business is use common sense."

Well, I guess that clears things up.

Generic frozen pizza at Walmart is better than Papa John's.

The "Pig Destroyer" sounds like a pie I used to get when I lived in California. It had just about every form of (pizza) pork you could imagine: pepperoni, sausage, bacon (conventional & Canadian), plus rich thick sauces and some great veggies.

My best friend (a forced vegetarian (his wife)) called the pizza "the Boss Hogg."

From time to time, I'd also order a great vegetable pizza from the same house...lots of artichoke hearts and so forth.

I am the very model of the modern major omnivore.

Don't mind me just coming through to say that the media is evil and I never said what I said even though I did I didn't know there was a reporter there.

In New York, eating Papa Johns "pizza" is sufficient grounds for institutionalization.

Surool: Awww, did he walk back his unpopular comments because it affected his business? What a huge shock for a dude who openly values money more than humans.

I don't see him walking shiat back. He just said that he's not going to personally cut hours on his employees because Papa John's locations are franchises and their owners would determine that...but he said they're gonna get their hours cut because of Obamacare.

It's the same herp-a-derp he's been spewing all along.

Wow, that is some hard-core backpedaling. When the first half of the first sentence is hedging what you are alleged to have said, that's some squishy beliefs you've got there, asshole.

2012-11-20 08:30:16 PM
pizza is about the easiest thing to make. as long as you don't fark the dough up you just put it in a 450 oven and when the cheese in the middle is melted it's done. how hard is that? seriously?

2012-11-20 08:30:34 PM
oh god, we have pizza snobs now? i can understand beer snobs, but pizza snobs?

If that didn't read like a company's PR in Damage Control mode, I don't know what does.
