Aww I was hoping to see Apple and Google with muskets at 10 paces.

Its not a surprise, they spent a fortune winning a lawsuit here in the state that will probably get over turned on appeal. And the huge public opinion backlash over the suit kind of shocked them I believe.....

Of course it could just be because Jobs died.

I think that's a lot of it. Jobs was a baby-man who fought wars of spite w/ his investors money. (flash for example). Now Apple is being run by actual business men.

this probably means the decision will be more logical, but the product will be more mundane and designed by committee..

Jobs was right about flash. It seems even Android and Adobe realized that.

I liken it to the cold war. Flash, like the USSR, would have eventually croaked on mobile on its own no matter what anyone else did. Jobs hastened their demise but they did it to themselves ultimately.

You mean Samsung's PR campaign, aided by the usual anti-Apple shills and brainwashed iHaters.

What, did Jony Ives (or whatever his name is) die, too?

Everybody knows the patent game is a load of bullshiat. For example, here's a patent circle jerk. You can't possibly believe that this is a valid form of doing business.

/somebody had a good image of this from a few years ago, too
