I'm going to go out on a limb and say that German sex therapist Dr Christoph Ahlers is full of Scheiße.

Yeah, I'm calling bullshiat on that one; utter, utter bullshiat.

Maybe in Europe, where you can't be fired for it.

In other news it's time for offices to "harden" their wifi.

Now if we're talking pictures of pretty females that's one thing. Who doesn't like looking a pretty women??

If that's what we are defining that as porn then I view 90% of it at work.

But I really don't watch porn. I love a boobie thread. But watch people go at it never really did it for me. I know I know I'm weird.

I also don't believe that number without substantiation. As has been mentioned, the IT guys see and know all. Every now and then I think about that when I waste all day on Fark, but no one has fired me yet, so I figure I'm good.

Only thing that would save my ass if Fark counts is the fact that I AM the IT guy

I used to write porn at work...

In notepad... Then I would gmail it to myself at the end of my shift and post it on literotica when I got home.

Never (well.. almost never) got in trouble for it. I *did* get some compliments from my manager who happened to be watching my system via remote one day. She was a fan.

Never interfered with my work though, and as a tech I would never take a system that was not teched out for such endeavors (noscript, adblock, etc) to a site that might possibly have bad stuff.

/Naughty, not stupid.

However, I work IT at a college, and I know that there are still a lot of people that don't realize this. Most of it we ignore, as it's more trouble than it's worth, but there's the occasional person that needs to have their MAC address blocked and their coach/dorm mom/dad notified because they are watching an insane amount of porn.

That's because your IT guy is too busy trolling reddit and 4chan to check on the farkers.

You just HAD to bring up that website didn't you? I suppose you just don't want me to get ANY sleep tonight!

While some sites probably are exceptions, the majority of porn browsing takes place shortly after 11pm local time, at least in the US. Also, people who browse porn, browse it for about 14 minutes. yeah, it was a slightly awkward business meeting explaining how to leverage traffic patterns to keep costs down. I haven't made so many people blush at once while discussing interface counters.

ok, I go to work barefoot every day, so I'm pretty used to laid back environments, but I'm pretty sure HR would say something if I was looking at even softcore porn at the office; so I call bullshiat on these numbers.

That said, one of my dad's employees got busted by the FBI for downloading kiddie porn at work a few years ago. Of all the places to download kiddie porn, your work computer is absolutely the stupidest.

Meh, I can believe it. I'm pretty particular, so if you don't have just the right fetish for me, I'm going to the next video until you do. I can easily hit 100 videos a session.

/Also, eventually they get old, so you get the "well, this has all the variables I'm looking for, but I'm just tired of seeing the same girl get fisted by midget shemales in a tub of jello. I want something new. That definitely contributes to the click count.

I like to read it right on the edge of a buzz because it's funny, but doesn't always supplant itself into my long-term memory. That allows me to enjoy it again, someday.

They have this thing now called "smartphones". They're like handheld computers. People can watch porn anywhere and not be near a computer. That being said I doubt it would account for 2/3 of all porn watching.

Not that I browse porn, given that I work in an open plan office, but it means I can sit and read Fark without getting into trouble.

The only reason I could possibly think of is if the computer was issued by and still property of the school and the students had agreed to a policy of not watching porn on that. Or, if there was an official school policy of no pornography over the school's network. Otherwise, so long as they are over the legal age let them watch all the damned porn that they want.

Universities often pay metered data rates. Students downloading lots of stuff like porn or movies can drive their costs way up.
