Dead for Tax Reasons: Except, in the case of Rebecca Black, it actually worked, and she became the synthetic, window-dressing version of a pop star.isn't that all a pop star is anyway? or is this like a cheap chinese knock-off of already cheap products?
Mad_Radhu: "White meat, dark meat. All will bebcarved." (Not safe for anything)
TalenLee: Hey, it's an excuse to link to this. NSFW language, I'm sure you're aware, and not very warm to the song itself, but it does talk well about the market-force driving hatred of the original.
germ78: I would think the dude is ingenious. Selling pop-star dreams to the daughters of the wealthy certainly is a profitable niche to be in.
PapaChester: Gave her ass dat pelvic thrust
Ryker's Peninsula: Coming soon:Flag DayLeap Year DayAsh WednesdayKwanza
D_Evans45: So we got a rap thread here. Anyone found any good underground rappers lately? That shiat on the radio the past decade has been a bunch of garbage.ShadClassifiedPeople Under The StairsId like some good recommendations.
dai the flu: The Internet has devalued hatred. Where overwhelming public criticism used to shatter people and make them re-evaluate their decisions in life, now everyone just expects it. The trolls, the bullies, the teenagers and the attention-starved have ruined their only weapon, spreading loathing so liberally across so many comment sections that it's all become white noise. Today, anyone creating for the Internet (me included) is so callused to spiteful criticism that it's no more effective at making us alter our forward momentum than a swarm of cluster flies. This is this most sensible thing I've read on the intertubes all year, sadly.

Imagine the flattery known to anybody who is told they've inspired some noble aspiration in somebody. The student then presents our sculptor with a work fashioned after the sculptor's own style - a likeness of the student himself. It is a monstrosity! A farking mess. Even worse, is that our artist sees that this piece of shiat before him is a more reasonable facsimile of his own work than he'd like to think. You farking idiot!! Admire me?!! You shiat!!! I'm the villain in this farking story!
Marshal805: Remember when Cracked used to be funny and relevant?/Yeah, me neither.
ZeroCorpse: The problem is that the Internet has made people stupid and it is in the process of ditching actual journalism, essay-writing, comedic writing, and other forms of written entertainment into rather over-used, bland, by-the-numbers collections of lists.
