He's going for a different kind of green! Actually I have no idea if the Celtic are green, but you sort of ruined my joke by putting facts in the headline.

Jeeze, if anyone actually talked like how the headline reads they would be the most insufferable douche in the world.

How is it racist? I'm asking seriously. I just don't know how that could be racist.

Ah Snoop Dogg Lion, the biggest bandwagoner in existence. I've lost count of how many footy club kits he's worn and said he was a fan of.

I can only imagine what the conversation is like between Snoop and Becks at a lunch.

Actually it's pretty concise. The only bigotry exists between Celtic and Rangers

I guess you could say that it implies that since Snoop Dogg is black he would want to buy a stake in a basketball team - but there's also the precedent that Jay-Z owns a percentage stake in the Nets and that it would make sense that someone in a similar field and financial situation would also want a part in a similar venture.

Snoop is interesting because he plays and is supposedly pretty good at Basketball, but he also has his hands in a bunch of youth (American) Football leagues and is a fan of Soccer. I wouldn't be shocked to hear this because of what I know about Snoop's love of a lot of sports.

Oh, I was really just playing around. But the tensions between Rangers & Celtic is called racism in Britain but it's really sectarianism. And the basketball vs. soccer thing. I'm not inferring any intent that's only inadvertent at best.

And that shows your lack of understanding of the situation, i.e. catholic/protestant = Irish/English = occupied/occupiers. It really has nothing to do with religion asa most people know it.

Oh... ok. I'm used to Spike Lee's Favorite Farker who would normally assert that any story about a black player is racist.

No, it's about religion. The love for Celtic/Rangers is more about religion than the Troubles. Trust me, I have a lot of N. Ireland/Ireland friends who can attest to the fact that Celtic v. Rangers is more Catholics v. Protestants than Irish v. English.

It is about Scottish vs Irish. Most of the hard core Celtic fans are of Irish descent and most of the hardcore Rangers fans are Scottish. It's about the hangover from the hatred all immigrants get when they move on mass into another country.

Any time you have a chance to buy into a team that's in a dying league with no major games against their biggest rival for 3 seasons and more than half the teams going bankrupt, you have to do it.

I don't think there's a worse league to be an owner of right now than the SPL. T

Disapproves of subby's misleading headline.

As with most yanks, my knowledge of the SPL is limited to whatever I read in Irvine Welsh novels, thus I think Snoop Lion would fit right in.

Is he going to move the team to Colorado or Washington?

What thing? Plus, I don't see soccer as a white sport. Back to the topic, at first I was confused as to why a big time Laker fan would buy a piece of the Celtics.

Who cares? Everyone is welcome at Celtic. Good for him for taking an interest in the club.

Soccer is definitely on the up and up. The soccer glitterati must be pullin the strings on this one, why would he not ask Robbie Keane?

Anyhow, LETS GO MAGPIES!
