Get back to your kitchen sink, you see, and prepare for government!

"The way to turn our economy around is not by making rich people poorer, it's by making poor people richer,"

Yes, we can give everyone money, just by cutting out PBS you see, then I'll give all that money to the poor people. Why, they'll each get $2, maybe even $3 more every year!

give it a farking rest.

"The way to turn our economy around is not by making rich people poorer, it's by making poor people richer,"

So you're saying we should give poor people money? I thought that was socialism.

Regardless, I don't see rich people clamoring for the right to give poor people thousands of dollars, so I guess the government will have to do it. And since you want a balanced budget, I guess that means we'll need to take money from the rich to pay for it.

Why is there an Altoona, Iowa? Did every area west of the original colonies just recycle names of cities in the East? They could have at least called it New Altoona or Altoona 2 or something.

Can we get through the inaugural first, before we start the hype machine for 2016?

Sure, but after that, they'll swear he was sworn in on the Qur'an.

A lot of travelers mention being confused when they see a freeway sign that says this way: Pittsburgh, that way: California. The locals call it 'little California', just like 'Little Washington' just a bit west.

I'd imagine that people who went to Miami of Ohio have a similar situation.

The name comes from 15th century Spanish Literature. You copied Spain.

If the Republicans truly believe they lost the election by not pandering enough to the poor, "Vote for me, I'll make you rich!" does have a certain logic to it.

2012-11-19 01:51:05 PM
The way to make poor people richer? Cut services and give the rich bigger tax cuts. That'll make 'em richer!

They know that giving gifts to certain groups is the way to win elections.

So, the 1% went from the being "middle class" to "poor" now? Well then, tax cuts for the "poor"!

No, see, we cut benefits to poor people. That way everything they have is earned instead of stolen from Real Americans. That makes them rich in spirit.

What makes it even more confusing is that there is a university in California called Cal U.

When my relatives were telling me they were going to Cal for a basketball game, I thought they actually meant traveling out to Berkeley.

The best ones were the televisions spots sponsored by the National Republican Committee that complained about a guy because he was rich.

It sounds like Rubio wants to play Santa giving gifts away so the poors will vote for him.

Oh wait, here it is:
"We need to do a better job of going out and convincing our fellow Americans who perhaps don't see things the way we do," Rubio said.

Yeah.. keep polishing that turd.

You mean somebody who lived in an elevated area relative to their surroundings named their settlement after the Latin word for "high"?

because... umm... there is this word called "socialism" that we do not like. It sounds bad. When we were growing up, we were told it is exactly the same as communism and communism is anti-christian and..... Well. we will just put the poor people to work in all the trans-vaginal wand and bible printing factories.

Why should they? The Repubes have already declared Obama's second term a complete failure and we need to bring the country back to the glory days of Herbert Hoover and George W bush.

2012-11-19 02:06:12 PM
So, by cutting all social benefits to the poor and middle class and then increasing their taxes so they have "skin in the game," then we're guaranteed that all the poor will become rich!

The 2016 campaign started before the first ballots were cast this year. The only difference now is that the GOP are distancing themselves from Romney's platform, while the Dems will start to cozy up for photo ops with Obama

There's also an Annapolis and a Syracuse that would take umbrage at these newfangled cities taking all their names. Also the term "democracy" and the Olympic Games.

The way to fix America's problems is not through concrete ideas, but abstract thoughts that make Rubio sound like a political see n' say. Pull his string until you hear truthiness! Sounds familiar.

2012-11-19 02:10:56 PM
"The way to turn our economy around is not by making rich people poorer, it's by making poor people richer," Rubio said, criticizing President Barack Obama's insistence that taxes for those making more than $250,000 increase as part of a deal to avoid pending automatic budget cuts and tax hikes.

Why do you think that those two things are in conflict?

The wealthy are sucking a massive amount of capital out of the country.. until that stops, it's a big problem.

Are you kidding me, that's over 2 months away! What, people are going to tune in to hear about the Middle East or the new leader of China?

Even if he actually thought of a way to do it, if the income of all poor people were raised in any significant way, the costs of goods and services would also raise--effectively keeping their standard of living exactly where it was.

won't anyone think of the poor American upper class!
They of all, globally, have it pretty much the worst, study it out.
Substantially poorer living conditions than the poorest of poor in Africa, it's heartbreaking to say the least.

I can only hope it's not too late, that they may still be able to save the country, if only they are given the special treatment only they deserve. Equality in America needs to be set aside right now, let's give the political Right the power to provide the financial breaks the rich need in order to provide jobs & better wages & lifestyles for the rest of us as they have provided unquestioningly in the past right up to today.

Vote Republican, it's our only hope.

Stronger families to give children more stability at home.

Gee, how you gonna do that? Lemme guess... bans on abortion and gay marriage. Don't give me platitude, douchebag.
