oryx: He's also increasing his taxes by earning more money. How can he ever get out of the hole?

Well, we know bees aren't the solution.

quiotu: Esc7: realmolo: Cage isn't a good actor, exactly. Most of the "leading man" types aren't. They are good at playing a variation on THEMSELVES, typically. It's the "character actors" that tend to be good actors. There are exceptions, obviously. Phillip Seymour Hoffman is a good actor, and he doesn't play "himself" in anything.

And Cage was brilliant in "Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call: New Orleans". That movie is insane.

For serious. Everyone watch that movie. It restarted my love of Nic Cage's insanity.

/Drive Angry is pretty ridiculous as well. He promises the villain he will drink beer from the villian's skull and makes damn good on that promise.

I'll repeat this... both movies stated here are must sees if you even remotely like Nic Cage. Though really, Nic isn't the only reason to watch Drive Angry.

j.lunatic: Is Cage really big in Japan, or another important non-U.S. market?

I don't think you get the role of Fu Manchu if you're not really big in Japan.

burndtdan: I think it's because of the Tao of Nicolage Cage

I've never seen such pseudo-intellectual twaddle outside of an intro to lit class.

SkylineRecords: Why Would I Read the Article: I really hope that one day Nic Cage does go ahead and make "Space Ass." I honestly thing it could be the best movie he's ever been in, save for Raising Arizona.

I'd personally like to see "The Color Purple" done with an all-white cast.

I loved him in "I Know Why the Caged Bees Sting."

The real question is why do people keep casting him.

Interesting fact I learned about Gene Hackman last week: His fee for any movie was $1million. No haggling no negotiating. Give me a million, I will do your movie. Any movie.

Matchstick Men was good but I may be the only person who saw it.

That said I do enjoy Nic Cage films. Not because they are good, they are far from that. They have a campy cheesiness I can't help but enjoy. The Rock, Face/off, Con Air, National Treasure (both of them), Gone in Sixty Seconds, Ghostrider, all terrible movies but if any of them popped on TBS Sunday afternoon you bet your ass I'm watching them.

Roger Ebert, is this you?
