The Trop is a 1950's dump, thank you very much. Which is probably why the cross street is named Tropicana and not Excalibur Blvd. Haven't stayed there since 99 but it was pretty dated then.

Yes, the Luxor is kind of a dump. Is Mandalay Bay still decent or has that gone to seed too?


Just got back from a weekend stay at the Trop and was pleasantly surprised at how nice it was. It was recently remodeled (so I'm told) and seemed modern and lively. It doesn't have a lazy river or the amenities that the bigger places have, but it is was nice enough for me to feel like I had to defend her honor in a Fark comment thread; so that's got to be worth something.
