I usually don't like these kind of things but this one was well done.

Not sure what the Thoreal ad had to do with George but I appreciated it's addition.

I read the headline in my normal head voice until I got to the last two words. Then, bam! Instant Takei.

You're so Takei.

So, 4 or 5 legitimate reasons, and 5 or 6 internet memes that he reblogs.

Yep, I'm cool with it.

He rocks.

He came to my work to talk about diversity once, He was a really good speaker with an amazing life story. I found myself really liking him.

When I went to go see him at ECCC, he was behind a curtain where you would get your photo taken. From the line we were in, all you could hear was his hearty laugh and "Oh, my".
Just a nice guy.
I got my picture with him pretending to do the happy dance he does.

He was hilarious dressed as a Geisha on a recent Conan

He was great in Larry Crowne. More than great.

I really liked his take on homophobes. I'll paraphrase:

They aren't afraid of gay people, so we really shouldn't call them homophobes. Just call them what they are: assholes.

1-11. He's famous, gay and posts on facebook

2012-11-19 02:07:10 AM
He just seems to be a hell of a nice, funny, honest and worthwhile dude all around; the sort you don't even need to be gay or gay-friendly to recognize, even when that's an "issue". There are certain people you don't have to meet in person to realize that they're the real deal, and he's one of them. I really, really like George.

To be fair that actually was a relatively accurate description, although I would add in twitter.

The main thing is what he posts is usually awesome, entertaining, or both. He is willing to do completely ridiculous things like the Geisha things and has a good time doing it. He seems to get joy out of just about everything even the minor things and that is something that everyone would be better off for if they could do the same.

Also, for anyone using them, you are doing yourselves a disservice if you aren't following his Twitter and his FaceBook Page. Lots of good stuff. :)

His recent Spiderman thing gave me a laugh, and he's given his time to do Star Trek fan videos, as well as his own Broadway show, plus Sandy storm relief and his own goofy bit projects. I really respect him as a guy who backs up his good thoughts with deeds.

As a straight woman, I would be happy to trade Brad Pitt, Johnny Depp, and George Clooney to have George Takei trade teams.

i like that Mr.Takei was on an episode of 'Psych'.

Sometimes his puns on Facebook are legitimate groaners, but mostly he's pretty awesome. Agreed, Buzzfeed.

I can get behind this, even though he is gay and slanty-eyed....

George looks better than that lone square of set dressing glued to the wall.

His insufferable Facebook posts outweigh most of those

He does have one of the most interesting lives ever. Almost nobody on the planet is ever going to top him.

So to speak.

GT is a really nice guy. I got to meet him a while ago at one Star Trek con. Shatner is just full of himself, but Takei knows how to make fun of himself.

Hmmm....

NPH, living with his elderly (sorry George) adoptive gay father, raising an adopted boy who is also gay.
We'll call the show "Gay"

Book it, Fox!

One of the things that makes him so cool is he isn't standoffish. He genuinely comes across as a very down to earth person who knows he's been the butt (no pun intended) of a lot of jokes and just runs with it.

#6 for the win.

I met him many, many years ago on the autograph line at a convention, and the man truly loves to talk
to the fans and always has something to say to them. He doesn't just sit there and robotically sign
his name. He also will hang out with the fans as much as possible (though I'm sure the crowds he draws
often makes that impractical).

Well with Betty White-mania well behind is, I suppose it's time for the internet to be obsessed with the next old person.

Man, more scripts on that page than a tranny porn site.

He makes being a nerd awesome? How does that work?
