Gotta love when software is released before it's been vetted for mistakes like this.

I said it a million times, and I'll say it a million and one times.. Android 4.2 is the worst Android version ever.. The entire update is riddled with more bugs, issues and non-sense then I've ever seen.

Gingerbread was our XP

4.1.2 was our Windows 7

Apple patented months starting with the letter D last week, Google is merely staying compliant.

The software has been peer reviewed and tested. They just missed an easy mistake. The SQE responsible will hear about it Monday, if not already.

No no you see. It was your Windows XP to our 4.2 and your Windows 7 was to our 4.2 as your Windows Me was to his Windows Vista Gingerbead

For a mistake like that to get out the door I'd bet there isn't a SQE - just one Indian guy in a basement tapping out code.

Ladies and gentlemen, I've used Vista, Windows ME, and Lindows, and I can say without hyperbole that Android 4.2 is a million times worse than all of them put together.

This is fark. Android is to be worshipped, that Google is just an advertising company is to be ignored, and a multinational conglomerate like Samsung spouses nothing but rainbows and unicorns.

Ordinarily, I'd be upset that a multinational conglomerate was espousing such things, but that they're actually marrying them and destroying the traditional definition of two-human marriage?! Outrage!

Just checked. And I lol'd. 4.2 is less polished than it should be, but it's hardly a bad OS. Some good upgrades from 4.1, but some boneheaded little problems, like December apparently.

I don't think it's too exaggerated, I looked on the XDA forums and there have been a lot of complaints about this latest upgrade, it seems a lot more bug ridden than the previous version. Luckily so far I haven't had any issues with the newest version on either my Nexus Galaxy or my N7, aside from the December thing. I like this new version, although I have some issues with the behavior of the new lock screen and the multple panels.

It's pretty awful and awful looking. Whoever at Google designed the lockscreen clock should be forced to trade in their options for groupon stock.

I reverted back to 4.1.2 over the weekend. Hopefully 4.2.1 is better.

/at least The Google lets you revert to early versions of android. Pity poor iphone owners with the Map of Lostness

I also don't get why the hour gets bolded now in the clock app while the device is locked. You cannot edit the typeface from within the Clock settings.

There are lots of features which I'm sure are very useful, but which I've not figured out. The whole "drag up from the bottom of the screen - brings up some arc with a Google icon at the top, which you can drag around, but which does nothing unless you land on the Google search button" feature. Also, how-to create folders in the dock thing, all of this would be handy to know.

To create folders, just drag multiple icons on top of each other.

Well... Thanks! That's both totally easy and something I would never ever guess in a thousand years. Awesome, that's a pretty useful feature.

I get it. The hour's more important at a glance. Same reason it's to the left of the minutes and we say it first. Same reason seconds are smaller when they're shown. Still pretty pointless and stupid. Probably the first time the idea's been in wide use on a digital clock. Maybe it was one of the patents they bought.

From the shots I think they overdid it. They're using a weight of 600, maybe 700 for the hour and 300 for the minutes. If they had 600 on the hour and 500 on the minutes most people would notice.

To be fair, my GNex is still running CM10 nightlies, which are better than stock. I'm looking forward to CM w/4.2. I love the new keyboard.

A bigger complaint for me is why the do notifications disable night mode? I use my Nexus 7 as my alarm clock, propped up via the case and the clock app before the update was perfect, no brightness at all and easy to read. After 4.2, any notification (email or even Titanium running a scheduled backup) disables night mode and turns the screen on full brightness.

Doesn't that kind of defeat the purpose of night mode?

I remember the the Bullwinkle episode where Boris bought the calender company and printed all the calenders without Saturday or Sunday. Then he could have the amusement park all to himself. But then he go lonely.
