snocone: Weenies!
Here in Minneapolice, we just drop sections of the I-35 into the Mississippi at rush hour for the fun.

Wow.

rubi_con_man: Dear Rest of the country :

Most of the northeast gets by with four-lane highways.

Dear Northeast,

The rest of the country doesn't like you. Or your tiny highways.

P.S. We won't even bother to mention how one of our two rivers vastly outsizes all of your rivers put together!

For nearly a year, what had been five lanes of traffic each way are being squeezed into three on the unaffected eastbound structure, with a lowered speed limit.

That's pretty good by St. Louis standards. Constricting 8 lanes down to 1 is more common.

Mrtraveler01: TheGreatGazoo: I guess the 370 bridge is going to become a bit busier.

I remember when growing up in the 70s that St. Peters was way the fark out in the boondocks.

Both 370 and the Page Avenue Extension (364) have been getting more traffic to try to direct the traffic away from I-70.

Apparently this project is supposed to last for a year so I better get comfy.

I've been trying to find a decent route to get from Harvester to Boschertown that doesn't take an hour or force myself through 100 stop signs. 370 has been a parking lot in the morning about 4 out of 5 days a week lately. 94 has never improved in the last 16 years (even after widening it and removing some stoplights) I've lived here. Taking 364 to Arena forces me through the parts of St. Charles that I hate because of the old people leaving the casino (it'll probably be tons worse tomorrow because its the last day the Hostess store will be open). There are various other routes to get there that I haven't explored yet. What used to take 30 minutes is now up to an hour.

By the time I get it figured out, it'll be done and over with. But, that's traffic in St. Louis!

Ready-set: That's one way to keep the people of St. Charles out of St. Louis.

University City here. And just kidding.

Sort of.

It's more like the opposite. :p

Although I will say, traffic has been moving pretty smoothly through that construction zone.

I should add, the Atlantic Coast is on their own, because for some reason beaches turn off the logic center in some people that controls the desire to have a safe residence.

zez: Now the old 115 bridge explosion was cool! They took that one down all at once.

I dropped acid and watched them implode a building once.

I somehow missed it this morning, I didn't know they were going to do it and I live really close. Good thing they'll have to do it 2 more times to get the rest of it down. Maybe I'll be able to make it to one of those.
