A ministry of highways building - that looks like a bunch of shipping containers.

A theater - ok a theatre is a blank check opportunity to make interesting structures.

A palace of weddings - that looks like a palace.

The institute of robotics and technical cybernetics - in a building with very sharp angles and technical features.

Sweet Jesus everything in Russia is so washed out and terrible. Except the Dostoyevsky Theater, that was cool.

We could probably come up with 14 buildings in the U.S. that are equally unique. And there are just as many boring utilitarian buildings in the US and former Soviet Republic. There were some cool buildings though.

That 'Holiday Center' would make an absolutely awesome hotel. A few snoozers around 9-12 or so, but the rest were great.

The difference is that most of the time, people KNOW about these. The ones in Russia(And former Soviet states) are kinda hidden gems.

I saw an art exhibition on Soviet architecture a while back. If you think this is weird, you should have seen the stuff they didn't build!

The House of Soviets, Kaliningrad looks like an okay ripoff of mid-period (ie, around the same time as the Yale School of Architecture) Paul Randolph.
