No. They don't. Whereas you see murdered Americans who died because of an attack on a CIA holding facility by terrorist elements, these nutbags see political opportunity. Their political engine is fueled by the souls of the damned, and lubricated by their blood.

When will they ever learn? It's the lies after the fact that get you in trouble. When the administration doubled down on the "it was a video insulting Muslims" mantra, they made it political. Had they simply told the truth, it would have been over with. Now ask yourself why they chose this path!

Because a mother who is mad that her son died in a war of arguable legality, and highly questionable necessity based on lies to the American Public (Iraq) is the same thing as a Politician running for office on the bodies of dead Americans.

Once you let politics color your view of everything, you come off as a nut job. Case in point: my old man. A smart guy, career military, now 80. His belief in conspiracies are determined by who is in the White House.

TWA 800 - POTUS Slick WiIlie - Terrible accident or the United States Navy decides to shoot down an airliner ? Dad goes with the last because Liberal Clinton lies about blowjobs.

9-11 - POTUS Dubya - Terrible terrorist attack or Inside job by the administration as an excuse to war? Dad goes with evil Mooslim terrorists because he loves Dubya the war hero.

Benghazi - POTUS Obama - terrorist attack or inside job refusing to protect secret CIA outpost. Dad goes with Americans killing Americans again because it's just logical when a Democrat is in the White House.

I'm always asking: "Dad, if these democrats are so dumb, how can they pull off these complicated schemes?"

EnviroDude: It's the lies after the fact that get you in trouble.

That's only true for cover-ups. Nixon with Watergate, Clinton with Monica Lewinsky, etc. What could this possibly have been a cover-up for? Why is it so difficult to accept this is the result of a lack of information as opposed to some sort of malice? Let's face it, when it comes to politicians, you'll never go broke betting on them to do or say something out of ignorance or stupidity, but you will go broke quickly if you bet on them to be too clever by half.

I will say, though, whatever the administration did or did not do that has everyone on the conservative end of the political spectrum's panties in a sandy wad right now makes me so happy. Above and beyond the sheer hypocrisy that they're demonstrating by being outraged at this and so much more so than the heavy air of desperation that it demonstrates in them, I just get a kick out of crybaby sh*tstains like the Republican party whining like petulant brats. It is really the only time we see them at the height of their honest intellectual capacity. And I am very amused by how low that particular bar is.

Speaking of dead Americans, I wonder how long it will be until the GOP Rage Marketing Division gets someone in their base worked up enough to kill some more of their neighbors.

All they worry about is keeping that anger going through propaganda.

By the way, there was another huge surge in gun and ammo sales after Obama's reelection. Go figure.

Stay classy, GOP.

I was going to say something similar - when will the GOP learn that its never a good idea to feed on the death's of US citizens. look - I get that the Republicans are running scared right now. they lost badly in the recent elections. damn near clean sweep for the Democrats, plus the Obama landslide. But doubling down on the disgusting tactics that cost the GOP the election in the first place? not a good idea, least in my opinion anyways.

The Republicans would be better served to wash their hands of this incident, mourn the dead and focus their efforts on moving their party back to the middle. attempting to distract the nation with this pointless bullshiat isn't going to get any Republican elected anywhere.

Nope, that was also wrong. Albeit for slightly different reasons -- using a soldier's death to push a political cause directly opposed to what they believed in life is pretty dickish, if my parents did it I'd invent zombieism just to rise up and slap some bloody sense into them.

At worst, it looks like the administration went with an incorrect interpretation of the event at first, which they quickly corrected. What was said at first doesn't matter now, because the Obama Administration has been very forcefully hunting down who did this since.

It seems like maybe a little screw-up, but it's definitely not a scandal by any stretch of the imagination, unless you're in that right-wing media bubble that demands that it become a scandal.

If anything, it's having the opposite effect. Reasonable people I know listen to the Benghazi charges and say "huh"? It was obvious it was a terrorist attack, the president called it that the next day, and somehow that's controversial? The Mohammed film stirred these people up. That's controversial? An unstable Middle Eastern country in the middle of a civil war is dangerous for embassy personnel. That's controversial?

They prefer to keep digging, to keep an investigation open as long as possible in the hopes of finding something actionable they like.

Remember that the Clinton impeachment over lying about a blowjob came out of the Whitewater investigation which had started almost as soon as Clinton took office.

the good news is that it's early yet - a lot of Republicans are probably still in the 'anger' phase, with still more in the 'denial' stage. it really does seem to be a lot like the semi-infamous stages of grief process for a lot of the GOP. anger, denial, bargaining, blah blah. eventually they'll get to 'acceptance' but its going to take some time.

I really do wonder just how much of the Republican reactions are being driven by shock...? the rank and file were flat out lied to by their leaders. they were told that Obama was already gone. the election was mere formality, the GOP numbers 'proved' that Obama was gonna lose badly, that he'd be out after Christmas and that the GOP agenda was going to run the tables in every election around the country. when that didn't happen, it shook the pillars of heaven for most rank and file Republicans. I have GOP friends who STILL can't believe Obama won, let alone won by such a landslide. this was after I was telling 'em to get ready for a big disappointment.

It again shows how reliance on the right-wing derp-o-sphere to get their message out is killing the Republican Party. The only way that any of this being a "scandal" makes sense is if all your information on it is coming from Fox News and other sources of that kind. Otherwise, the arguments that this is some kind of massive scandal are just nonsense.

no, it's important that the Republicans understand that Obama won by a landslide. they need to know and understand just how badly their ideology was rejected by the bulk of voters in this country. if the Republicans don't understand that this nation DOES NOT want to be run by a christian theocracy, then they'll never change.
