born_yesterday: I'll vote for her.

If she lets me have sex with her daughter.

I promise.

Just wait 5 years and go to an Anchorage truck stop parking lot. You'll be able to get what you want for $15 and an Old Milwaukee tall boy.

Google search of the author turns up profiles in both Townhall and the Weekly Standard, as well as a book she's written about Jesus. Nice trolling, Los Angeles Times.

In 2016 she won't have been close to an elected office in how long? And in 4 years, he looks will have faded just that much more. How is she supposed to keep herself in the public eye? Keep pimping Bristol, I guess?

2012-11-17 06:57:49 PM
Hate to say it, but by the time 2016 rolls around, Palin isn't going to look as hot as she was in 2008. Imagine a Barbara Bush looking chick.

...Yes. Do it.

Please.

She's hot, she's blue collar, she's electable.

This right here is the biggest problems the GOP face:

1) Optics over metrics. They value appearance over substance and illusion over reality. When has it EVER mattered if a president was "hot"? Never.

2) Brawn over Brains. This idea that humbe, "blue collar" roots are more important than someone who understands the world and studies matters important to the times and important to proper governance of a country the size and influence of the U.S. I'm not saying a plumber COULDN'T make a good president but that shouldn't be their only farking experience.

3) Electable. That is the dumbest, most subjective reason to vote for anyone and is often used for candidates that don't really have any other compelling accomplishments or positive selling points.

Gay marriage? Palin opposes it. But she is also a strong advocate of states' rights, and I'm betting she'd be fine with letting states and their voters grapple with the issue on their own. Remember that all of America didn't swing toward approval of gay marriage on Nov. 6. Three reliably blue states and their voters did. If she were smart, Palin would recruit a member of her impressive gay fanboy base - yes, she has one - to help run her campaign. I nominate Kevin DuJan of the widely read gay conservative blog HillBuzz, a Palin stalwart since 2008.

So if I have no farking clue behind the concept of DOMA I can get a job at the LA Times too?

IlGreven: [TFA:]She's hot,

Debatable, I guess if you like the "soccer mom" look.

you haven't seen her recently; she's going for a for-serious Peggy Bundy look and is starting to show her age.

jake_lex: Sarah Palin will do the same thing in 2016 she did in 2012: she'll hint that she's running for President, collect donations from the rubes, and not run.

And she will do that again in 2020. And 2024. Etc. etc.

Because she's a con artist.

yeah, precisely this. A Presidential run would make it more difficult* for her to collect cash for her own personal gain, so she'll do the bare minimum required to get A) money and B) keep her name out in the open to get more money down the road.

*unless it's revealed the mitt romney's fortunes have "inexplicably" increased this year.

This is terrible. Please Republicans, don't do this. I mean, this would actually create a real chance of Ms Palin being POTUS. The Democratic nominee might get caught with a dozen dead hookers or three or four live boys - and that would make the race too close to call. I can't take that chance. Please, remove the possibility and bury her in a hole outside of Vegas or something. Just in case.

At first I thought that was satire but as I read on I suddenly realized the author was serious. Holy crap!

I think it's really a shame the repubs didn't pick Palin or Santorum or Bachmann as their standardbearer this year. The exten of the disaster would have been even more striking and there would be absolutely no question that the lurch to the right is a catastrophic strategy for the GOP. It would have saved us all four years of derp.

Oh well.

She's electable.

Ha! I seem to remember one of the more popular retorts to anything pointing out Palin's massive flaws in 2008. "Hey, she's just the VP anyway, she's not running for President or anything!"

2012-11-17 07:07:06 PM
FTA: Palin can more than keep up with the Democrats in appealing to voters' emotions. Hardly anyone could be more blue collar than Palin, out on the fishing boat with her hunky blue-collar husband, Todd. Palin is "View"-ready, she's "Ellen"-ready, she's Kelly-and-Michael-ready.

A Palin "war against women"? Hah! Not only is she a woman, she's got a single-mom daughter, Bristol, to help with the swelling single-mom demographic. On social issues, Palin, unlike Romney, has been absolutely consistent. And let's remember that most Americans, whatever their view of choice, disapprove of most abortions.

So, she's down to Earth and blue collar (more than anyone?!) AND she fits in with Hollywood elitists, including an open lesbian.

And the single-mom demographic will vote for the party that routinely demonizes single moms because they can relate to Bristol Palin?

http://www.rightwingnews.com/uncategorized/ann-coulter-on-single-moth e rs-the-statistics-from-guilty/

Women will vote for her because women are anti-abortion? How did that work out for them in '08?

/These people live in a world so far from reality it can't even be seen via the Hubble Telescope.

Palin is "View"-ready, she's "Ellen"-ready, she's Kelly-and-Michael-ready.

This is probably the dumbest part of the article. Sure, Palin would be the perfect candidate because she's ideal for television interviews.

So much derp:
FTA:
"Furthermore, looks count in politics, and Palin at age 48, has it all over her possible competition, including Hillary Rodham Clinton, who will be 69 by election day 2016 "

Oh dear god what I would pay to watch Palin try and debate Clinton.

Ever since the 1990s, Republicans have been looking for the next Ronald Reagan.

Yeah, and the democrats found him, and ran him. He's won the last two elections.

Sarah Palin is the new Ronald Reagan: charming and affable and unwilling to back down if she's right. I can't see what's wrong with that.

FTFM

That's not her fault: she was told by her campaign that it would be a television interview, and they started asking about newspapers.

/She was all ready to answer questions about Mr. Ed.

It's not going to happen. Once she quit as governor of Alaska, her career in public office was sunk. If she can't hack a full term as governor of a state with fewer people than the city of El Paso, why do people think she's willing and ready to lead the whole country?

She also won't run because she'd have to debate in the primaries, where even the lamest GOP candidates would eat her lunch. That's why she didn't run this time. Because Romney, Gingrich, and even Perry would have made her look like a buffoon.

Of course, she'll tease people with the idea to keep the PAC going. Then, she'll put out another book so she can launder the PAC donations into her own pocket.

Question:

Do they change the title of "The Undefeated" in December 2016 or does she "gracefully" bow out of the race prior to November 2016 to keep that "streak" alive?

CapeFearCadaver: SnakeLee: A national exit poll conducted by CNN asked voters whether Palin was a factor in their voting. Of those who said yes, 56% voted for McCain versus 43% for Barack Obama.

At first I thought that was just a hugely misleading statistic, but I looked it up and 60% of 2008 voters said that Palin was a factor in their voting. If that 56% number is true, then 33.6% of all votes were basically voting for Palin. That is kind of scary, actually

My parents LOVE her. Yes, it's very scary.

Did CNN ask if Palin was a positive factor in their voting? "Yeah, but I voted for McCain anyway."
