What exactly is illegal about what she did? Correct me if I'm wrong but Tiller was able to perform late-term abortions in accordance with Kansas state law. That's why the Pro-Life movement targeted him for death.

"Only the wealthy would have access to the courts," said Kori Trussell, one of Neuhaus' attorneys.

That's the farking point. Republicans control the state and that's how they like it.

She referred a 10 year old girl for a late term abortion? Holy crap. I didn't know a ten year old could even GET pregnant. I hope they strung up the bastard that raped her.

Technically, they're revoking her license because of a problem with her paperwork. Because never before in history has a doctor neglected to fill out his or her paperwork perfectly. I've been following this case for a while now. It's absolutely sickening what they're doing to Dr. Neuhaus.

Anyway, it is interesting that they're referencing patients as young as 10. You know how a 10-year-old gets pregnant in the first place? Rape. Wanna bet the legal system down there is treating that criminal investigation with as much vigor as their treating the investigation into the physician who counseled a rape victim that abortion is one option for handling pregnancy at 10-years-old?

It must not have been legitimate rape, since het body didn't shut that whole thing down. Little slut must have wanted it and now the doctor destroyed a jesusbaby. The father of this would be child is a hero doing the work of Teh Lord™®© and should be treated as such.

The State Board of Healing Arts wanted to require Dr. Ann Kristin Neuhaus to put up a bond of nearly $93,000 as she pursues a lawsuit in Shawnee County District Court in hopes of regaining her license.

Kelli Stevens, the board's general counsel .... acknowledged that she knows of no case in which the board sought such a bond in the 13 years she's worked for it.

So this lady who referred a pregnant 10 year old to an abortion doctor is the first person in 13 years to get hit with this rule? Yeah, nothing smells fishy there at all.
Can a 10 year old even physically survive bring a child to term?

Sounds like the kind of place where a child would be expected to give birth. Like Afghanistan or Iran. I mean, how do you tell the difference?

2012-11-17 02:22:26 PM
I should point out that the pregnancy of the 10-year-old may well not have been a Kansas case.

Before he was murdered, Tiller was the doctor, on a national basis, who performed abortions that other clinics wouldn't. Third-trimester fetal abnormalities. 10-year-olds. Unique and difficult circumstance cases. Tiller's practice had women fly to Wichita from literally every state in the nation.

Neuhaus's practice was primarily being Tiller's "second opinion" under state law, again, largely for cases that no other doctor was willing to handle.

I really, really wish you hadn't posted that list. I pretty much hate humanity now. Especially this one:

Yelizaveta "Liza" Gryshchenko, who had celebrated her 6th birthday 5 days earlier, gave birth ...after being impregnated by her 69-year old grandfather, a former sailor.... After the incident, the family emigrated to Vladivostok, taking the girl's grandfather with them.

I almost included a warning, but I thought "really disturbing" was self-evident when the link promised younger-than-10 pregnant girls.

Sorry...I probably should have anyway.

I dunno. When I used to live in California my doctor had an office in the "Medical Arts Building" which was affiliated with the local hospital. Doesn't really seem that odd to me, but what do I know?

The ones near the microphones control the party, and people choose to be a part of that party. So, same difference.

Not that unusual. The Emily Morgan Hotel in downtown San Antonio is what used to be the Medical Arts Building, built in the 1920s. It was the first "doctors' building" in the city and still a well-known landmark. But they were doctors, not "healers."

My understanding is that she withheld a lot of patient information from medical documentation. She contends she did this because she was concerned about confidentiality (totally legit since Phil "jackass" kline, the former AG leaked a bunch of medical files from an abortion clinic) the board is claiming that she didn't include the information because she didn't properly evaluate the patients.

Also, if I remember correctly, the ten year old was raped by her uncle.

Kansas had a provision in their laws that potential abortion patients had to be mentally cleared for an abortion. Think of those invasive ultrasounds everyone got upset with about a year ago, but with your head. She referred 11 patients to Tiller without said tests, thus the revocation.
