Captain Steroid: Does anyone on FARK know the Heimlich maneuver? 'Cause K-State just CHOKED! XD

they didn't choke, they were throttled.

mikaloyd: I pity Georgia tech and Auburn

Why did you have to bring up GT?! Can't I just enjoy my other school winning?!

To be fair, too... I want to see more evidence of similar calls regarding that overturned incomplete pass in the endzone. I'm honestly curious, is the distinction between shoulders usually used in a game when it comes to a catch on the sideline?

There's NO. WAY. IN. HELL. that Stanford would've received the benefit of that call in South Bend. particularly from the booth.

We're all Trojans next week

Oh no we're not, if ND wins out and UGA beats bama then they have their best shot at a title.

Next week: Go USC, Auburn, Oregon State, GA Tech, S. Carolina and Florida.

We're really gonna get 'Bama curbstomping the Irish for the new year, aren't we.

And just like that, a team from the SEC will once again be National Champion.

ND beats Alabama in the championship game. It will be a defensive slug fest like last year, but ND has enough explosive plays to out them over the top.

No, once UGA goes down next week to... I can't even finish it. I'm going to start loading up on booze.

It really is a bit of an unfair advantage to the SEC (not any specific teams, but the conference as a whole) that this late in the season all the other conferences are beating up on each other and they have essentially a bye week to solidify their place in the rankings.

2012-11-17 11:49:31 PM
Need expert answer...I googled up most yards total offense in a single game by both teams in a college game, and got WVU-Baylor from this year at 1432. By my math, I have this OU-WVU game at 1434. It is really the case that this game set the all-time single-game record for total offense by both teams (restrict answer to Division I, please)?

2012-11-17 11:49:38 PM
could ohio state actually be the best team in football?

ND vs OSU, as i stated earlier in the thread, would probably happen.

I wish the media would stop talking up that podunk ND team as if they deserve to be in the national title game. Hello - they didn't win their conference!

I really, really, really hate bringing up the refs,
but even my wife yelled "THAT'S TOTAL BULLshiat!" when they threw the flag on the 3rd and 1 only to pick it up and say "Sorry, no penalty. Carry on." The pass interference call in the first half was even worse.

And Chip Kelly proves himself once again to be the Les Miles of coaches. Er... yeah.

Really, put him in a game (throw the predictable gameplan out the window because the other team is stopping it [noting that he does often provide 2nd half gameplans that work, and rarely do teams stop Oregon in BOTH halves]), and he shiats the bed just about every time. He LEAVES POINTS ON THE FIELD, because he coaches like this is a video game with predictable players that are playing the same as they would in any other game. His players almost ALWAYS make great plays... but when they don't, and the gameplan doesn't give the Ducks a lead, it's usually a loss.

bulldg4life: puffy999: After analysis, I don't think the call should have been overturned, but whatever. Doesn't matter. Alabama and Georgia (and Florida, for some stupid f*cking reason) are ejaculating right now.

Florida doesn't matter.

Georgia and Alabama are playing for the SEC championship. No matter what happens, Florida isn't going to get high enough in the polls to matter. The undefeateds losing will probably stay ahead of them.

Not so fast my friend. If Florida were to beat FSU next weekend, a long shot for sure, they would be ranked higher than Oregon and K State. If ND loses to USC, then above them as well. They would then play the winner of the Bama/GA game. They would have to play a stellar game against FSU though.

There's no way an SEC team not in the championship game plays in the NCG two years in a row.

Never in a million years.

Now that is the question.

ND's defense isn't the question. They can play, and I believe that front will destroy anybody.

The question is, can their offense score or keep a drive going long enough to keep the defense of the field, against the defenses of Oregon or even USC.

Personally, I think they lose to USC.

NC game = Oregon vs Alabama

Is it fair Oregon built up their record with 3 weeks of cupcakes to start the season? There's no difference.

Start or end, they all played cupcakes.

Matt Barkley probably isn't going to play next week. Also, Oregon won't even be playing in it's own conference title game, so they are out of the national picture.

Oregon might not even win their division. If Stanford beats UCLA next week, it's Stanford vs. UCLA in the Pac-12 title game. And Oregon still has the Civil War, the Beavers aren't pushovers by any stretch.

Yes that's possible but I don't care if they're undefeated, the B1G is terrible this year and that would be a crime against humanity.

I was gonna say. Plus... the SEC teams played a lot of... well, SEC teams over the course of the season. Some easy ones out of conference. Now, Alabama has to play and win against their in-state rival, and then the winner of the other SEC division. Easy schedule indeed.
