Shopping with a bunch of cut throat bargain hunters who'd just as soon gut you like a fish if it meant they could get that extra 25% off whatever gift they've really been looking for is a social activity now?

Just to give you all an idea, if El Cajon was a person it would be Honey Boo Boo's mom. The main part of town is very white trash meth.

Where do these women work? And even if they don't work, wouldn't they rather be at home then save 200-300 dollars?

halmot: Are CRTs, or even rear-projection TVs still sold? Is it still necessary for news articles to specify TVs as being "flat screen"?

Hey, yeah! That's almost as silly as "ATM Machine (machine)"

antidumbass: The best comment I've heard this year about Thanksgiving is that it's, for many or some, the one day out of a year we actually give thanks for what we already have. Then, the very next day it's an all-out brawl for shelved goods.

Not me. I always spend the day after Thanksgiving trying to murder Bambi. Deer season only lasts 9 days, and it happens to always fall over Thanksgiving. My wife gave up trying to get me to do anything else a long time ago.

Oh, let them stay. They have nothing else in their lives at this point. You just took away the only thing that was going to give them purpose and meaning for the entire year. The thought of getting a TV for $75 instead of $115 has sustained these stupid fools for MONTHS...and you just took that away from them. Now what do they possibly have to live for? Nothing, that's what. They might just as well go home and kill themselves as live in a world where they might have to wait till the week before Christmas to get such a good deal again, or do a little extra online shopping.

You heartless bastards.

"Last year, I came on Tuesday and I was 17th in line," she said. "They only had 15 TVs."

Most of these Black Friday shenanigans would disappear if retailers were required to issue rain checks at the advertised sales price when their stock runs out. People would feel less inclined to line up days in advance in anticipation of limited stock and stores would probably be less inclined to use such pricing trickery to get people into stores.

You could spend a week begging on street corners and end up with a ton more cash than you're going to "save" on Black Friday deals. Of course, you'd have to have an IQ above single digits to realize it, so there's that.

2012-11-16 04:13:01 PM
I would let them camp out for six days, then call the cops and have them removed Thursday night.

Just for fun, let's say they are a little cheaper. Let's even say $100 cheaper. Is that worth a week of sitting on your fat ass? That's just completely pathetic. If you're that poor, you don't need a farking large TV anyway.

The extra $220 is worth the 5 days not spent in line, the reduced chance of being trampled, stabbed, shot, or being upsold an extended warranty.

Besides, you're totally going to be one of the people to get the *Two TVs per location at this price. , right?

I was just pointing out that $179 for that TV is ridiculously cheap and way lower than "Amazons (sic) normal prices".

You either get the TV, or your next-of-kin get a nice settlement.

I think Liam Neeson has enough cash.

I've had a CRT tv and a CRT PC monitor that were both flat screen. They did cost more than rounded screen monitors/tvs at the time, and honestly, the picture wasn't all that much better.

From the followup story, linked within the original:

"They said, 'You guys can't stay here. You guys look homeless, '" recalled Buckingham. "I mean, I may be trailer trash but I'm not homeless."

Obviously they DO NOT HAVE JOBS, so where is their money to purchase items
coming from? From the photo, you can rule out prostitution, so my guess is it
is coming from welfare, food stamp fraud, child support fraud and on and on.
