Quoth the article about TWD..."But on this show, things just keep getting worse, with no real expectation of improvement. It's like watching people starve to death, plus zombies". Isn't that how a lot of Americans feel toward most things these days? Aren't zombies just our mindless coworkers?

Girion47: That they're both incredibly boring?

I have a lot of gripes with the walking dead TV adaptation, but that isn't one of them.

I hate the entire concept of Glee, 90210 mixed with American Idol, but calling it boring is far down on my list.

2012-11-16 12:47:31 PM
Yeah, this is a dumb list. Dexter and Walking Dead have no place on this list. The author's argument boils down to, "its violent so people shouldn't like to watch it."

Doesn't get much dumber than that. Every show on this list should be a reality show within the last 10 years and #1 should be, "Here comes Honey Boo-Boo." Retarded.

Oh man I would SO love to see a singing episode of TWD. They could have a row of zombies doing a kick-line, then 2/3 of the way down one of the zombies would kick is leg clean off and then do a face plant.

Comedy gold.

I watch it because my wife watches it. I'm kind of curious what the governor is doing, but I can't seem to care about any of the people in the prison or the blonde. I like the black chick but that's because she also seems annoyed by the slow pace and stupidity of the characters around her.

SPOILER!

Skinny McWhinerbiatch is dead now, so I'm not sure who on TWD I'd like to shoot in the face any more.

No, I didn't flip through their ad-covered slideshow.

I damn near gave up on TWD after last seasons desperately seeking Sophie debacle. This season has been better. If it weren't for my GF, I wouldn't have even bothered coming back. It's not like it will ever rival what the comic is offering. As for Glee, as I already mentioned, I have a GF, so you fill in the blanks. The closest I've come to watching that abortion was watching the Glee episodes of Community, which pretty much ruined the show for me. Singing and dancing pretty much ruins most things, unless it's ALL about singing and dancing.

I mean how pathetic do you have to be to keep watching something you seemingly hate so much? Seriously?

A show that is masterfully written, with crafted storylines and visual effects unmatched by anything else on TV, let alone 99% of the zombie movies out there, and he compares it to Duck Dynasty?????

Author just carefully demonstrated what a complete moron he is by including The Walking Dead on this list of drek

So does my wife?

Did you watch it from the beginning? I mean, The Walking Dead, IMO is a show you kind of have to see from the beginning to appreciate where the characters are all coming from. I mean the actions of them all and such are obvious: "Don't die, kill the ugly dead things". No doubt. To see this group of people change their personalities in a totally organic way (through THESE set of ciircumstances) over 2 and a half seasons has been really cool.

That's the main reason I like the show, besides the fact that mortal peril MEANS something (just like the Game of Thrones/Song of Ice and Fire TV/book series). Pretty much only Rick is "safe". I also get to watch when bad things happen to him and the actor who does him is frickin AWESOME.

Maybe you should check it our from the beginning if you haven't.

Or maybe you just don't like it. :)

I watched the first season, hated what I saw of the second season and really liked the first couple episodes of this season, now it's going back to boring and slow as fark.

Dexter: "Why it shouldn't work: We all know Dexter Morgan is a serial killer, but hold on. Take a step back. We're rooting for somebody whose only joy in life is stabbing people to death. On any other movie or show, that's your detested villain. Sure, he targets bad guys, but his addiction manages to get innocent people murdered too, such as his loving wife Rita and his former colleague Sgt. Doakes. Yet we still root for him!"

Congratulations author: That's kind of the whole point of the series. It's Robin Hood squared.

The reason why it shouldn't work is because it has lousy, soap-opera-y writers who assume the viewers are too stupid to catch all the loose threads they can't seem to tie up.

As a subtle bit of character development, I liked when Lori chastised Carl earlier this season for going off and getting prison medical supplies on his own, and he was like "So what? So I had to kill a couple of walkers? Big deal." in that "I'm not a kid anymore tone".

Haven't read the comic. The reason I thought it was so bad was the "drama" was so cheesy and over-the-top that it robbed the entire series of any emotional impact it could have had. I don't remember specifics, since it was a while ago, but I do remember not caring at all what happened to any of the characters.

Seeing ...

shiat, in this month's issue of the comic, Carl hides in the back of a moving truck, jumps out with a huge machine gun and starts just blowing people away with it. The weapon's kick knocks him on his ass, and he STILL from a seated position keeps just shooting the fark out of people.

Carl is farking AWESOME and if show Carl becomes HALF the character he is in the comic, he will be a fantastic character.

how so? just interested in why you think so, because in all honesty, the only time the show equaled the comic was the first 2 episodes (which were pretty much the comic brought to life) and the episode when Lori dies (all the prison stuff did exceed the comic, Andrew Lincoln was amazing) but the Woodbury crap really drug the ep. down a bit.

Yes, the comic is a "farking comic book", but it is pretty much an incredible ride start to finish and is the only comic I can really think of that 104 issues in is just one long story (each issue picks up exactly where the last one left off).
