Between this and being named one of the least green universities a few years back I can't imagine how they'll ever attract students!

...Business tab? So we've admitted that universities are megacorps that don't pay taxes?

It think their education rankings issues/websites are still very popular.

That BS US News Report is big business and a very big deal to most colleges and universities.

At the very least, they'll continue to provide one of the most expensive educations available to students and parents who have more dollars than sense.

If you can afford GW and you got rejected at Georgetown, I would argue that it's worth it for the connections. But that doesn't make up for Georgetown Envy.

/Students at GW and AU are particularly susceptible to Georgetown Envy

Yeah, but what about the life experience of being able to run down the street a few blocks and celebrate in front of the white house after you find out that Osama Bin Laden is dead?

This isn't as bad as when Catholic University's Columbus School of Law dropped from a 2nd tier law school to a 3rd tier.

Good luck never being able to pay that $100k in student loans, would-be lawyers!

My wife got a full ride scholarship to their law school. Then she got sick and they wouldn't let her record classes, even though they have a policy in place for recording the classes. She couldn't take any semesters off either, because they said that once they use her numbers, she's worthless to them and they'd rather not pay the scholarship anyways.

They also took away the scholarship of a girl who had to travel to London to be with her dying mother.

fark them.

Gw's campus is pretty much embeded in/scattered throughout the part of DC I work in, and my only opinion I have of the school is from direct observation of the student bodie, and that it that I very much approve of most of the Student's bodies. Seriously the school may not be as prestigious as G-Town but it is a hell of a lot better-looking

Good, now these publications that rank schools need to drop schools that lie about their employment statistics. A person employed at Starbucks is not employed in the legal field and such an individual is not making excellent, non-traditional use of his/her superior legal education. Just drop them, right off the chart.

But then there will be no more schools to rank.

Just was going to say those college rankings are about the only thing anyone takes seriously from US News and World Report; for the longest time I've felt those rankings alone were enough to justify that publication's existence.

I suspect more than just a few schools fudge their numbers. I recall seeing some no-name schools posting numbers comparable to some fairly prestigious schools and thought to myself "this can't be".

I think us news recognized this and decided to do to gwu what the usada did to lance - make an example out if him, let the others know there are repercussions. Sending a message to schools they suspect are fudging their numbers

Just goes to show all the other schools what will happen if they TELL THE TRUTH. GWU screwed up royally, but they also self-reported something they were unlikely to be busted on. And they get the "death penalty"? Nobody else will ever self-report errors again.

A lot of schools lie on their US News survey. In 2001, my school said they had three 24-hour computer labs and live-streamed classes. I saw some of that when I visited in 2006, but I must have completely missed all of it during my four years there.

GW's real problem is location. A friend of mine who went there referred to it as "America's war-zone college".
