The spokesman would not comment on whether the customer would still have to pay the bill in question.

This is why they're shocked and saddened.

BumpInTheNight: buntz: See, why the kid even CARED is what I don't get!

It's a problem of motivation, all right? Now, if he works his ass off and T-Mobile double-bills a few extra customers, he doesn't see another dime. So where's the motivation? And here's another thing, he probably has eight different bosses right now!
That's should be his real motivation - is not to be hassled. That and the fear of losing his job, but y'know, it will only make someone work hard enough not to get fired.

I bet he only does at most a solid twenty minutes of stabbin' a day.

Now that we had a chance to meet this young man. Boy he's just a straight shooter with upper management written all over him.

My favorite line of TFA:

The spokesman would not comment on whether the customer would still have to pay the bill in question.

I'm still somewhat amazed that people consider XKCD to be so funny. I mean, I've laughed at some of his stuff, but the majority of it...really?

(He wrote a math problem on a check and then "what now, biatches?"! Ha ha ha! It's funny because Verizon won't know what to do with it!)

IMHO a lot of is "ha ha ha - I get the joke, therefore it's funny and I'm so smart!". Humor via a sense of superiority.

Relevant?

If I was the stabber I would turn to the people in the mall and yell out "Are you not entertained!?"

This is relevant to my interests...

I'm thinking about ditching Verizon and my grandfathered unlimited data for a new phone..

There's a deal on T-Mobile $30/mo. 100 minutes, unlimited 4G unlimited text..

The extra steps seem to include never calling..
Order online/Walmart..
+Avoid the stabby guy
Answer several riddles
Balance on 1 leg while doing all of the above.

But dude! 30$ / month and I have Skype for outbound calls!

skinink: AT&T only rapes you once a month, no stabby stabby.

Meh, I'll risk the occasional blade to the gut in order to not have to use AT&T.
