Eh, getting McCain angry isn't so much of a new tactic by anyone as it is letting him be himself.

I think it's good ratings, and that's fine with me. If they can make an industry of uncovering lies and hypocrisy, instead of just being corporate talking heads, then God bless 'em.

I'm pretty sure that the media can has as much right to keep asking the same question as he has to keep saying "no comment"

How dare a citizen of the United States ask questions of an elected official?

Someone at CNN actually asked that? Holy fark, what happened to CNN? What gave them the idea they could ask real questions to someone on a witch hunt?

Is it even possible for you to notice that you're criticizing the so-called liberal media for not holding Obama's feet to the fire when we're talking about a story about CNN reporting on your current favorite scandal?

You mean like, "why does the GOP keep trying to politicize a terrorist attack that killed Americans"? Because that's a hard question to answer.

McCain is a dumbass but did anyone think Obama sounded a bit macho when defending Rice in his press conference? I dunno, I just can't imagine him saying the same thing in reference to, say, Kerry. It almost sounded like he was defending her honor in a paternalistic way.

Obama has no worries about the election or getting 2 terms, he's gonna sack up and start getting shiat done. Or at least I hope he will.

He probably is acting like that for the same reason Pelosi gave a press conference surrounded by every female Democrat in the House.

Mugato: Could someone make one coherent case of this thing being a conspiracy or someone lying? It really shouldn't be a hard thing to do

The White House said it was related to an anti-Muslim film and carried out by the general population, rather than a staged attack by Al Queda, a more familiar enemy.
This was done as an election-season strategy.
Obama was trying to encourage American mistrust of the Muslim populations involved in the Arab Spring. The Arab Spring is his pet peeve, and totally not the kind of thing he's into.
And he figured releasing the info that it was a staged Al Queda attack a couple days later would...

Wait sorry no, I can't come up with one.

Let's finish that line.

And he figured releasing the info that it was a staged Al Queda attack a couple days later would help him look more like George W Bush, which would appeal the swing voters, who were desperate to have a commander in chief that they could see having a beer with.

See? It is about the free stuff he gave away!

They don't need to keep an election a horse race to get good ratings? An old man throwing a hissy fit is their cash cow now? Just a guess.

Every conspiracy theory in three steps:

1. "All I'm saying is, why can't we have an investigation? Why won't they answer our questions?"

2. Everyone answers your questions.

3. Pretend (2) didn't happen, return to step 1.

This is the first time I've all three steps take place simultaneously, though.

I recall a bunch of protests in other countries going on about a movie that day. The right wing religious fanatics probably just used jingoism to stir up the under-educated masses.

Its what right wing people seem to do.

When they come up with some, I guess. So far, all the "questions" coming out of the right wing noise machine are not hard, they're just stupid - and already answered.

Does anyone have that graphic of the 10 or so fatal embassy attacks that happened in 2004-2008 and were totally ignored? I need it for the drunken argument I'm sure to have with my relatives over Thanksgiving.

Here's what you don't understand about this scandal: the president was given prior warnings of the attacks by intelligence services, personally blocked requests for additional security based on those warnings and then watched and cheered via remote drone as his muslim brothers set the compound on fire and killed our ambassador. Then he told everybody to lie about it.

It's all clear as day.

What amazes me about that pic was IT WAS TAKEN DURING A PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY DEBATE.

God that is funny. I just wish McCain had jumped across the table at the candidate he was pissed at.

This was the big plan all along. I will accept that the Republicans really did believe they were going to win, as unlikely as it seemed to everybody with a pulse at the time. They thought they could make a scandal out of this, and then Rmoney would just horse-dance right into the White House. After, they could give a bunch of money away to their backers while they "investigate" Benghazi, wasting at least a year of the People's time with more scaremongering. Now, they have already paid for all of the air time, so they have to keep at it, even though it's obviously not a scandal, just a bad day in Benghazi.

I find it hard to believe that these people are so obtuse as to not realize how "the best available information at the time" changes pretty farking often, especially in crazy circumstances such as these. I think the administration has been more than forthcoming with information, and I think it's disgusting how these people, especially this supposed "hero," are dragging corpses through the mud, against the wishes of the families.

Sounds like we don't need to worry about it any more. After all. If it was important, surely McCain would have attended these meetings.
