In case anyone is interested, according to wikipedia -

O Fortuna in its original Latin:

O Fortuna
velut luna
statu variabilis,
semper crescis
aut decrescis;
vita detestabilis
nunc obdurat
et tunc curat
ludo mentis aciem,
egestatem,
potestatem
dissolvit ut glaciem.

Sors immanis
et inanis,
rota tu volubilis,
status malus,
vana salus
semper dissolubilis,
obumbrata
et velata
michi quoque niteris;
nunc per ludum
dorsum nudum
fero tui sceleris.

Sors salutis
et virtutis
michi nunc contraria,
est affectus
et defectus
semper in angaria.
Hac in hora
sine mora
corde pulsum tangite;
quod per sortem
sternit fortem,
mecum omnes plangite!

Translation to English:

O Fortune,
like the moon
you are changeable,
ever waxing
and waning;
hateful life
first oppresses
and then soothes
as fancy takes it;
poverty
and power
it melts them like ice.

Fate - monstrous
and empty,
you whirling wheel,
you are malevolent,
well-being is vain
and always fades to nothing,
shadowed
and veiled
you plague me too;
now through the game
I bring my bare back
to your villainy.

Fate is against me
in health
and virtue,
driven on
and weighted down,
always enslaved.
So at this hour
without delay
pluck the vibrating strings;
since Fate
strikes down the strong man,
everyone weep with me!

Knowing Wikipedia though, one of the Latin phrases is probably 'Suck my Balls!'

Not bothering to research it, but it reeks of baroque imagery.

oh my god, that is so funny.

I used to work at Tower Records back in my starving artists days, and people used to ask for this song all the time, but never with those lyrics.

My first thought is the Foreign Idol contestant singing "I Can't Live" in hilariously broken English.

My first thought after laughing out loud at this video and the Total Eclipse of the Heart video. Good show Fark.

It took me four years before I learned the real lyrics to Dragostea Din Tei because of an old flash video with a "unique" translation that would always pop into my head whenever I heard the song. At least with O Fortuna, I don't have that problem since I've known the lyrics for years.

Numa Numa yay!
Keep on dancing what a slutty dame,
I'm impressed they all keep paying!

Ok, that's weird. I'm getting some sort of McGurk effect with this video. I know Latin well enough to pick out each word in the song when just listening to it normally, but when watching it with these words over it, all I can hear is the words provided. I close my eyes and it turns into Latin, open them it turns into English.

Yep. Churchies used to do that all the time to convince kids that rock and roll music was satanic.
