liam76: Everytime I have pointed out there si nothing wrong wiht them buying empty land and having a voice in the govt there you have cried "terra nullius" and pretended it was wrong of them to do that. I don't really care what your excuse is but when you say jews can't do that, you are an anti-semite.

I'm just calling it (and you) for what it is. It's the terra nullius argument and you are a liar. Have fun playing with your strawman.

Uncle Tractor: ...But you seem to be OK with the new owners using ethnicity to determine who gets to live on their new property. I guess it's not racist when zionists do it

Prior to 1948 (you know when Israel was attacked) when were they saying arabs can't live somewhere?

So you really are OK with people using ethnicity to determine who gets to live on their property ... or is it only OK when israelis do it?

Uncle Tractor: liam76: Tractor likes to paing a picture of Palestenains forced into a corner with nowhere to go,

liam likes to paint a picture of himself as a mind-reader who knows more about me than I do.

You make it pretty clear with your repetition of 90% ad nauseum. You pretend that every jew who moved there kicked an arab out of their home. You ignore the construction and new developments the jews created.

No. Terra nuillius is there is nothing there, I can take it. They didn't do that.

The reason you are a raging anti-semite is that you don't believe that jews were allowed to buy that land or have a voice in the govt when they did.

Label it whatever you want, but if someone was saying that blacks can't buy land somewhere and when they did they couldn't have a say in govt, you would call it waht it was, racism.

Odd that you want to pin me as racist after arguing against jews being able to buy land and have a voice in govt.

If jews came out of nowhere and started kicking arabs out I owuld be against that. That isn't what happened. You might want to read up on what happened inthe Arab Revolt, and what happened when Israel declared independence in 1948. When arabs target jews for terror attacks,a nd when every surrounding Arab country attacks you, I can understand kicking arabs out. It isn't pretty, but war never is, and the fact remains that it only happened because they thought like you did. That jews had no right to buy land there and that they had no right to a voice in Govt.

So says the American.

And a Brit is going to try and take the moral high ground over that comment??? Wow, now I've heard everything.

I'm not attacking someone else for doing it.

Uncle Tractor: spiderpaz: As revolting as it is to discriminate against non-jews, the fact is they bought it. They didn't steal it or kill someone for it. They BOUGHT it. As in the Palestinians sold it, and were paid for it. They accepted deals and took the money from the Jews for their land. How is that the fault of the Jews who paid for it?

That's not the problem. The problem is when the new owners kick out non-jews and only rent / sell to jews. Again; when one person does it, it's a racist landowner. When several hundred people of teh same ideology do it, it's ethnic cleansing. Either way, it's totally repulsive.

If I sold my car, and then after I spent the money I looked back at the guy who bought it and attacked him because I wanted my car back, that would obviously be wrong on my part, because if I wanted the car, I shouldn't have sold it. Somehow this is okay for arabs to do though.

[i560.photobucket.com image 152x206]

If the new jewish landowners had behaved the same way as the previous non-jewish landowners, the arabs wouldn't have cared one way or the other.

So if you buy a piece of property it's not yours to do with as you please? You must continue to use it the same way the previous owner did, otherwise the tenant has the right to kill you?

This is some fuzzy logic here.

I really don't care, either way. I'm not pro jew or arab or anything. But you're not making your point very well. I'm sure you have a point your were trying to make, it's just not making sense.

Uncle Tractor : "How does one create a jewish homeland in an area where 90% of the population is arab"

If you start out with 10 chicks and 9 of them are brown and 1 is yellow then 90% of the ducks are brown.

If you add 8 more yellow ducks then there are 9 of each, and 90% of the ducks are no longer brown.

Math, how does it work?

It's not as if the Jews came in with tanks and leveled Cairo killing millions of Arabs and then displaced them. They built settlements in an area with a small population using land that they paid for. Yet you act like there's no difference.

The thing they've done that is bullshiat is treating the Palestinians like garbage and not letting them have their rightful voice in Israel's government. The proper thing would have been if they made Palestinians full citizens with the right to vote.

Your BS argument trying to lie about how they gained control of the land just makes you look like a liar.

Sure, and I'd say the same if we were talking about jews. You're just making shiat up again.

Odd that you want to pin me as racist after arguing against jews being able to buy land and have a voice in govt.

You are a racist because you're OK with state racism, as your support of Israel clearly shows, and you're a liar because you keep making up things that I'm supposed to have said.

If jews came out of nowhere

I'd think Europe qualifies as "nowhere," as far as the arabs were concerned.

and started kicking arabs out I owuld be against that. That isn't what happened. You might want to read up on what happened inthe Arab Revolt,

Which one do you have in mind? There were several.

and what happened when Israel declared independence in 1948. When arabs target jews for terror attacks,

You mean the attacks carried out by Irgun, Haganah, and Lehi? Oh, right, it's not terrorism when zionists do it. Facts are, both sides were violent back then.

and when every surrounding Arab country attacks you, I can understand kicking arabs out.

...But you can't understand arabs wanting to kick out foreigners who are trying to set up a colony in arab lands. Somehow, that is beyond your comprehension.

It isn't pretty, but war never is, and the fact remains that it only happened because they thought like you did. That jews had no right to buy land there and that they had no right to a voice in Govt.

...And once again you lie about what I've said.

Sounds like the way it works in Tibet, and look how much the tibetans like it.

It's not as if the Jews came in with tanks and leveled Cairo killing millions of Arabs and then displaced them. They built settlements in an area with a small population using land that they paid for. Yet you act like there's no difference.

One third of the total population (1947) is not a "small population." The "tanks in Cairo" argument sounds like one of liam's strawmen.

The thing they've done that is bullshiat is treating the Palestinians like garbage and not letting them have their rightful voice in Israel's government. The proper thing would have been if they made Palestinians full citizens with the right to vote.

I agree with this, completely. The solution today would be for the palestinians to demand the right to vote and run for office in israeli elections, as I've said in several ME threads.

Your BS argument trying to lie about how they gained control of the land just makes you look like a liar.

Not sure what you're calling a BS argument, but:

Michelle Compos records that "Later, after the founding of Tel Aviv in 1909, conflicts over land grew in the direction of explicit national rivalry."[19] Zionist ambitions were increasingly identified as a threat by Palestinian leaders, while cases of purchase of lands by Zionist settlers and the subsequent eviction of Palestinian peasants aggravated the issue.

He bought some 10,000 dunams (10 km²) of land in Al-Fuleh, which became the home of Merhavia. This purchase also marked the start of bitter disputes between Arabs and Jews over the rights of tenant farmers who had been evicted, and regarding the employment of Jewish or Arab watchmen for the land.

Neither the Sursocks nor the Zionists made provisions for the Arab tenant farmers who worked the land, however, and the result was that several thousand peasants were evicted from the land on which the families of some of them had lived for generations. The precise number of peasants turned out in this manner was a subject of dispute.

No I am not. I have said several times they can do this, and you have always cried "Terra Nullius" and pretended they couldn't.

Now you want to pretend that it was only because they were kicking arabs out of land they bought, which is a completely different stance. If I was a member of an Irish Gentleman's club and we won the lottery and all decided to buy condo's in florida and asked all the jewish renters to leave, is that ethnic cleanisng? Keep in mind that the arab population in what is no Israel/Palestine grew when all this "cleansing was going on.

Uncle Tractor: You mean the attacks carried out by Irgun, Haganah, and Lehi? Oh, right, it's not terrorism when zionists do it. Facts are, both sides were violent back then.

Always the same hasbarah tactic; an ever so slight shift in topic so you can (dishonestly) interpret my posts as racism. Over and over and over.

Nope. It would be racism. If hundreds or even thousands of your buddies did the same in the same area, then it would be ethnic cleansing. Especially if the purpose was to make space for you and said buddies.

Keep in mind that the arab population in what is no Israel/Palestine grew when all this "cleansing was going on.

Some were, yes (there were several, remember?). Yes, I know the arabs were the ones who first turned to violence. No, that does not in any way excuse zionist terrorism.

It isn't a slight shift in topic. You spent 10 posts here and countless posts on other threads saying they had no right to go there, but land, and have a voice in govt.

Saying they can't because they are jewish is racism. Saying you are no only against it because they kicked people out is anew complaint.

Uncle Tractor: Nope. It would be racism. If hundreds or even thousands of your buddies did the same in the same area, then it would be ethnic cleansing. Especially if the purpose was to make space for you and said buddies.

So if you bought a house and the family that was living in it was a different race, and had a find a new place to live, are you a racist?

If you are buying land for people to move to and some of the current people who are renting it have to leave, that isn't racism.

You quoted this, but didn't comment, why is that? Keep in mind that the arab population in what is no Israel/Palestine grew when all this "cleansing was going on.:

If they were "cleansing people", why was the population of Arabs growing? The neighborhood my great grandfather grew up in was all Irish, it is now China Town, were the Irish "ethnically cleansed"?

Also bear in mind the "evictions" (how you are trying to pretend no longer choosing to rent to someone when you bought the land to rent to someone else as eviction is still beyond me) were small scale until Israel was attacked in 1948.
