Why do gy guys always have that "arm up" pose?
Is that a gay thing?

StrangeQ: Now that that's settled, let's revisit the entire ordeal in the form of Gawker's family friendly Elmo Sex Scandal Explainer.

Yeah, or we could, you know, not.

If it's one thing I want to look at more of today, it's Gawker links and that forum posting style/abortion. Bring it on!

NowhereMon: Scumbag

Really, now, the proper term is "manwhore", or if British, as is so often the case, "rent boy" or "a bit of rough".

KJUW89: He has crazy eyes...and he's not nearly hot enough to offset them.

I don't think the biggest set of rib spreaders would offset them. Guy's dad must've been a periscope or a Cyclops.

dv-ous: Cyclometh: So, do we go back to the original thread and ask everyone who called Clash a pervert, pedophile and deviant to recant and apologize?

This is an object lesson in why we are assumed innocent until proven guilty in court. It's something that should extend outside that also, but the media needs their blood.

46 and 18 is still pretty creepy. Legal, yes. But then, lots of creepy shiat is legal.

A lot of gay men and women prefer older men. They have more $$ and tend to treat them better. I'm betting that Clash was paying this twink's bills.

Nabb1: As the father of a two-year-old girl who is in love with Elmo, let me just say, "F*ck you, guy."

That just plays into his hands.

Well, near his hands.

Are his eyes close together or the bridge of his nose fat? Good God, it's like he's looking into my soul...

I like the way you managed to make this about evil women even though there were no chicks involved in this story. 8/10!

My guess is that it helps make a photo more interesting and less of a mug shot. Helps break up the symmetry and helps guide the eye. Makes the photo more intimate and less of a passport photo.

Of course, here is world famous heterosexual Richard Gere's interpretation.

You don't know that Clash didn't have sex with this hustler at 16. Maybe the payout was dependent on the hustler "publicly retracting his claim" and signing a further no disclosure agreement. If 16 was technically legal, the police won't be involved, so the hustler won't be forced to lie on the witness stand to keep the money.

Also, the hustler is ugly. And whats with the tattoo of the woman on his chest? Is she sitting on the toilet, reading a newspaper, and pooping out his nipple? Can anyone read the text there?

Son of Thunder: Cyclometh: So, do we go back to the original thread and ask everyone who called Clash a pervert, pedophile and deviant to recant and apologize?

I know the difference between a pedophile and an ephebophile, so that part doesn't apply, but I did call him a pervert and a deviant. You get no apology. He was nailing a kid who could have been in the same high school as his daughter. In addition to "pervert" and "deviant", I'll add "creep", "sleeze", and "skeevey". "Technically legal" does not equal "good idea".

The guy was an adult. Your personal feelings on appropriate age differences mean two things: jack and shiat.

Adult. End of discussion.

yeah this right here. had a few comments about my age difference with my wife (I am 40, she is 24) but who cares? We have now been together 4 years, married for over 2, and I have the best relationship I have ever had (it probably doesn't hurt that I don't look anywhere near 40, however).

legal is legal, fark off if you think it's skeevy.

One of the posters in the comments asks: What kind of gay man has a tattoo of a pin-up girl?

I'm not saying it is the kind that "attracts powerful men" and eventually gets cast away, at which point he stabs them and robs them, or claims they committed statutory rape in a feeble attempt at black-mail (no pun intended here, folks, move along), but I suspect that it is the kind that eventually robs rich or richer gay sugar daddies, stabs them, or attempts extortion. I've read of a number of sad cases with much unhappier endings than this one.

Clash did the wise and right thing. One, he came out long before this happened, two, he immediately stepped away from his job, and three he made a public announcement. When the victims of black-mailers do this they destroy their value to the extortionist because extortion is a crime and they set themselves up to defend themselves in a court of law and the public eye.

Smart dude. Had his Twinkie and ate it too.

The guy looks none too bright but predatory and narcissitic.

A lot of male prostitutes are deep in denial. If they are straight they are farked up, if they are bisexual or gay, they are farked up in a different way. They are often farked up either way and many of them, while they enjoy sex with men, do not consider themselves gay--they are in it for the money or for the yucks. A lot of them are narcissitic, some are sociopathic and capable of slicing and dicing you just for laughs.

If you are closeted, you don't survive a relationship with them. But if, like Crash, you have come out, you have a first line of defence in that you are harder to black-mail or bully. There will be people who know your story and who can back you up.

Of course, all of this applies to men who who have affairs or mistresses or other relationships which are likely to be deemed inappropriate by employers, family, etc. The best defence in all cases is a good offense--go public. It could save your life regardless of why the partner was dumped or has turned vicious.

Publicity. You can't fight threats of exposure unless you can bear exposure.

That said, Clash must have some Mad Muppet Money to get a Snotty Hottie like that. Either that or he's a closet furry and the trick is into wild Elmo sex.

Then again, inside every sociopath, there's a would-be actor. Sociopaths are born actors. That's how they survive even when people discover that they are dealing with a likely sociopath. We don't have to make any assumptions about Crash. It doesn't take a lot of fame or money. Sociopaths and tricks are just as attracted to D-listers with middle class money. You don't have to be Quintin Crisp or Fran Leibowitz to figure that out. Just look around your young urban professional circle of acquaintance and friends and count your tricks.

Tricks can be found clinging to school teachers for the love of Jebus! School teachers!

fumb duck: Why do gy guys always have that "arm up" pose?
Is that a gay thing?

No, that's a porno/model/actor thing.

The pose displays the arms to advantage, aligns the body, solves the problem of what to do with the hands (even if the subject is too stupid to think of anything) and highlights any muscles or curves the subject has. The same pose, you may have noticed, is used by women as well.

Since it is used by women as well as men, I assume that muscles is not the end of the story. It is sexy for some other reason. I suspect that exposing the armpits has a subconscious effect even for those who don't find armpits remotely attractive, namely it makes you think of body odor, which preps the brain for pheromones that no longer exist or are now so subtle in their impact that you are no longer conscious of their effect.

Whatever the reason, it is one of the standard poses for "sexy" regardless of sex, age, sexual orientation, musculature, or body type. You can find men, women, children, bears, chubbies or orcas posed that way. Long arm, short hair, body hair, complete body shaves--it is all one.

So I think my theory that it is inherently sexy regardless of the details of the subject's body or mind is correct, and pheromones and brain sex are my trump cards. It is also a quasi-submissive/dominant pose. The ambiguity may play a role.

Son of Thunder: calm like a bomb: Son of Thunder: What magnificent judgment Clash demonstrated, hopping into the sack with such a nice boy.

Who amongst us, at one time or another, has not stuck his dick in the crazy?

And how many of those have not regretted it later?

Sure, but it's not like that is going to stop anybody from doing it in the first place.

Wow. If you say "end of discussion" it must be the end of the discussion.

Oh wait.

Save your "technically legal means perfectly fine" nonsense for the lawyers. As a grown up (real grown up, not just barely technically grown up) with a functioning brain, I have the capacity to distinguish between what is technically within the law and what is right. A man who is the same age as me chasing tail that's the same age as my youngest students is what we grown ups call "sleazy." Not "illegal." "Sleazy." And no amount of arms-crossed pouting or shallow adolescent moral relativism is going to make me stop calling the sleaze a sleaze.

It's a good thing we have laws in this country, rather than people who just decide innocence based off of their 'grown up' sense of what is 'right.' Otherwise, people who are pretty much decent human beings for the most part, but still make mistakes that may skirt that legal line may have to answer to assholes like you.

Save your moral outrage nonsense for the church. Either this guy was an adult and therefore capable of making his own choices, or he wasn't.

Which is it? You can't have it both ways, the age of majority is a bright line in this country. Personally I wouldn't be interested in someone that age, but if they're grownups I don't care who they're farking.

It's none of my goddamn business. Nor is it yours. I don't want people prying into my private life and that pretty much means I don't pry into theirs.

Agrees with Brantgoose that it triggers a armpit pheromone signal in the hindbrain and flexes the chest to advantage. Also, to gy guys, it may suggest a guy relaxing while he gets serviced. If you know what I mean.
